“Train spotter's delight”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

To start the staff were fine and the breakfast buffet ok but this hotel is really let down by location.

I was staying on the 'track side' of this hotel on the 8th floor which commands a great view of the clyde, and all the trains coming into central station. Despite the hotels best efforts to insulate you from the noise this is not a place for light sleepers as the screech of brakes and clunk and clack of carriages is your lullaby.

On top of this in the morning it was an early (as in 5am) start for the other residents, the majority of which were contractors and coach parties. So there was a lot of movement and bathroom noise accompanying that. Fine if your part of the group but not great for the individual or family residents.

I realise this is a budget chain but when the 'Euro hostel' across the road at 'from 13.95GBP' is more tempting maybe they've got the wrong spot.

Room Tip: Maybe rooms facing the road rather than the rail tracks would be quieter

I recently had the pleasure of staying here. The service at reception was excellent (thanks Ronnie). Being in the customer service industry, I took notice of most things and was very impressed. The staff were professional, helpful and courteous. The room was lovely. I couldn't fault the food. Such efficient, friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely stay.

My family and I stayed here last year, and for our trip this year we booked again because the location is great and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is spacious, quiet, and clean. We stayed here 4 nights...and while it is slightly more expensive than we have previously paid (albeit average for the other hotels in the central area), It is worth it for the convenience of location and the quality of the service & rooms.

We stayed at this hotel from Thursday 30th to Sunday 2nd June 2013.
This is an excellent hotel as far as comfort of the rooms go. We had a beautiful view over the river. The room had very large double twin beds with an excellent shower and bathroom.
Now comes the downside, the HOT breakfast is overcooked and to make matters worse, the heat lamps continue to "cook" the food. I could not eat the fried eggs, This is a shame because this is a very good hotel.
My advice, don't take the breakfast, which is optional and go next door to Wetherspoons wher you can have a 1st class breakfast for under £5

Room Tip: See above, have your breakfast next door at Wetherspoons for less than £5

The Jurys Inn has recently been renovated and everything is modern and clean and tasteful. We were able to walk to restaurants or eat at one of their restaurants or in the bar. The breakfast was very nice with eggs, fruit, yogurt, waffles etc...you won't go hungry. From here we walked down by the river and also into the walking mall area. To go further into the downtown area, we took a bus.
The beds were comfortable and it was extremely quiet in the room despite being at a major intersection. The staff at the front desk were very helpful at recommending places to see or eat.
The only issue is dropping off from a bus or cab...there is a no parking zone in front and you need to be quick.

Handy for the city centre , room was fine, standard sort of chain hotel room, breakfast good, although coffee not brilliant. Dinner was fine, main course portions rather small though - recommended if you get it at a reasonable rate.
Great views from my room

Room Tip: Facing the Clyde on an upper floor gives a good view
