Booked Two night weekend break with superbreak very good price. Bed and breakfast 2 days plus 1 evening meal. Arrived by car just after 6 Friday night parked up at muti story car park on opposite side of road to Hotel. Jurys Inn pays half the cost for the parking. Booking in took about 10 minutes four couples in front of us. Two staff on reception both locals very friendly. Booked into room 530 5th floor, 3 lifts all working. Room was nice size 1 double and 1 single bed very clean. Tea and coffee which was refilled each day, ran out of milk on the Saturday told staff in reception not a problem replacement milk arrived within ten minutes. Sink would not drain in bathroom Told reception on the way to restaurant it was fixed by the time we return to the room. We were on the train station side of the hotel the train noise did not bother me or my wife put we did drink rather a lot over the weekend. Food in the restaurant was good evening meal and breakfast. I will be going back to Glasgow hopefully soon and when I do I will Probably stay at the Jurys Inn.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your excellent review, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay especially the food and beverage. If you are returning please contact me direct and we will try and make your stay even more special. Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager
Stayed recently on business for 2 nights. This is an expensive hotel for what you get. The car park is none existent and if you need to park your car you have to use a multi-storey up the road which is easy to see from outside the hotel if you look to your left and across the road......but, it's nigh on impossible to navigate to simply because Glasgow council need to employ people who make life difficult for the road user. It's called changing the one way system as often as you can so that not even 'updating sat navy's can keep up to date!
Back to the hotel. If you get a room at the back of the hotel you are facing the central station and although the windows are double glazed there is no mistaking trains leaving and arriving. It's not loud but it does mean that you can't open the windows unless you like the sound of trains! There is air conditioning in the rooms but the units switch off after midnight and in my case I was awoken by the quickly building heat. Having had my sleep disturbed by this I switched the air back on only for it to go off again of its own accord - and I really do mean off! I gave up after the third time and had to settle for open windows.
Room Internet is available at a charge ( why do UK hotels continue to rip us off with extortionate rates?). Everybody should continually complain about this and force them to stop charging. They make a fortune from us all and it just adds a bad taste to a sometimes good hotel stay.
I found the bathroom to be well stocked with nice soap/shower soap dispensers and the towels were fresh and soft. The bed sadly, I found uncomfortable and with the overnight heat made for a fairly uncomfortable night.
From May through to October Glasgow becomes a haven for tourists and the rates all go up. This may be the reason for my expensive stay. I normally stay at the holiday inn hotels but they are even more popular in Glasgow right now!
Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am disappointed that you did not thoroughly enjoy your stay. We do charge extra for Car parking and WIFI however this is in order to provide value for money in our Bedroom prices as not all guests require these extras therefore they can tailor their package in order to reduce overall cost. Please accept my apologies regarding the air conditioning, we will look into this and rectify. Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager
Four of us stayed there in April just for a weekend away. Staff were very good. Had dinner on first night which was very nice. Very central for shopping and entertainment (ie pubs, restaurants etc). Breakfast was from 7.30 til 11.30 excellent (how sensible is that when you're away for the weekend)
Dear Guest, Thank you for your excellent review, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and especially dinner which is a big focus for us. If you are ever returning please feel free to contact me direct on email@example.com Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager
We had a weekend city break here and found it very convenient as it is just round the corner from a subway station. It is very near to the railway station but we didn't find that to be a problem. Breakfast is self service with lots of choice. Reception staff were mostly very pleasant, just apart from the one who was less than helpful when I asked if we could have a twin room! However, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and would return. Please accept my apologies if one of our team came across as rude. Staff friendless is an area we do a lot of training on and a focus for us however on this occasion our usual standards did not come across. Please feel free to contact me direct when you are next returning and we will try and make your stay even more special. firstname.lastname@example.org Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager
This is a pretty nice hotel but it's not well situated. The neighborhood is a bit scruffy looking but ok. What is a sort of advantage is really a big disadvantage--it's right next to the main train station for the city. Fortunately we were on the other side, but folks in our group that were on the train side said the noise was intolerable and began at 4AM
The hotel is quite nice, but very expensive given the problems.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. Our hotel is located in the centre of Glasgow right next to the main shopping district and train station. This is usually a really bonus for our guests however I am sorry to hear that it wasn’t to your liking. With regards to the noise, all our rooms on the station side are triple glazed which eliminates the issue however I can understand the initial concern when you see the station. Please feel free to contact me direct if I can be of any further assistance. email@example.com Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager
