“Should be 4 *”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Stayed in the newly revamped Jury's Inn recently and believe that this hotel should now be rated as a 4* hotel. Check in was efficient, staff friendly and the rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and spacious with a great view of the Clyde especially by night. Had dinner in the restaurant adjacent to the bar and it was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality of food presented. The breakfast had a great selection of fruits, breads, hot food and cereals and drinks. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel and will definately book it again the next time I am in Glasgow.

Room Tip: Great location for shops, nightlife etc.

Jurys Inn Glasgows surpirsed me by the standard and quality of both the decor and food. Each area is decorated to a high spec which makes you feel like you are staying in a plush botique hotel rather than a Jurys Inn. We ate in the bar on our first night the menu is a grill theme chosing a meat and then sides and sharing platters to start which is very modern and in keeping with the contemopary feel. On our second night we ate in the restaurant which was again modern and intimate the food again was better than we expected. Our room was modern, clean and very well kept as were toilets etc. The service was excellent throught especially the bar and restaurant staff. We would recomend this hotel and will return for our next stay in Glasgow.

I had another quick one-night stay - it's well located in a central spot just by the Station and the Merchant Quarter & shopping (I'm glad I didn't have to look for parking) Décor is basic and no frills, but the room was comfortable, with good views over the Clyde. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the meal service is fair - even if they do seem to cater for large parties of folk visiting Scotland for the first time.

I lay awake listening to the trains and air conditioning noises, and only learned in the morning that I could have had a much quieter night by making sure that the secondary pane of the window was well shut and snug in its groove.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review, I am disappointed to read that your sleep was disturbed. The triple glazing at the rear of hotel really makes a difference and hopefully you will give us another chance and experience it for yourself. I stayed here for 1 night (friday night) a couple of months ago, only getting to put up a review now.

Check in was quick and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and well furnished. The bathroom was quite large and there was plenty of hot water. I booked a room only rate so I can't comment on the breakfast and I didn't use the restaurant. I did us the bar and found the staff that I dealt with to be nice and polite. I did find the price of the drink in the bar a bit steep even for city centre prices.

The location is great, smack bang in the city centre and beside all the shopping areas and major sights and areas of interest in the city and very handy for Glasgow Central Railway Station.

Upon check out, I had a few hours to kill til I had to get the train on the next leg of my trip, so I left my bags with reception and they looked after them til I was ready to collect them later in the day.

All in all this is a good city centre hotel, clean spacious rooms and friendly staff also shop around on different booking sites before making a booking as you can get some good value rates that are cheaper than on the hotels own website.

Stayed here in January and got a good deal off, itison, £90 bed and breakfast for two, the rooms are tidy and comfortable with ample space, the showers are really good as well, got the train into central station and the hotel is only a few minutes away, with the city centre the same distance, ideal if you are just having a quiet weekend or are wanting a few drinks and a dance, everything is within walking distance, would definitely recommend, the breakfast in the morning is buffet and when we got there it was fresh out so was lovely, we will be back!

We stayed here recently while visiting Gala Riverboat Casino. The hotel is ideally located for city centre activities as it sits right next to central station. Our room had a double and single bed. It was nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and had everything you would expect from a hotel room. The room looked onto central station with trains coming and going the entire time we were there. The windows had an extra layer of glazing meaning we could not hear any noise from the trains. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of variety and was served until 11:30 which is handy when you've had a late one the night before. Similarly check-out is 12noon giving plenty of time to have a leisurely breakfast. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we would certainly consider using this hotel again.
