I have visited the University many times over the past 6 years as both my sons are students there. Wonderfully atmospheric building and the cloisters take me back to a bygone age. Was also at my cousins wedding in the University Chapel. Exceptional! Well worth a visit - I use any excuse to go back time and time again.

We booked a place at the Open Day. We were greeted warmly and given information on the University. Then we had a tour of the library, sports hall and various other parts of the Uni.
The Open Day was very informative and gave us the opportunity to speak to a lecturer.

We had the opportunity to visit the halls of residence. It gave us a good insight into student life.

There is a lot of quick walking involved on steep slopes to get around parts of the University.

“Stoic History, Proud People, Beautiful City”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

It's a beautiful Gothic style university campus, with a rich history. 4th oldest in the English speaking world and one of the most influential universities in the UK. With a rich alumni of some of the greatest minds in their field, this university nurtured the intellectual minds of some of the most prominent Scottish and British academics. You can unlock this history and be enthralled by what Glasgow University has achieved during it's 550+ year history by joining in the University Campus tour. Those seeking to study hear are assured they will become part of a vibrant student body building on the aspirations of those who once walked these corridors, all the while supported by an accomplished and celebrated faculty who continue the proud tradition of pioneering research.
The grounds themselves can be walked by the public, there are multiple museums on campus, the anatomy museum, where physicians peer over 100 year old pickles corpses in jars, which a remnants of early study of the science. If that is a little too grotesque, then the Zoology Museum hosts an arrary of live and stuffed animal displays which will delight curious adults and children alike. The MacIntosh gallary is also worth a look for those interested in design and art. The most prominent museum is the Hunterian Museum which displays everything from prehistoric animals, to ancient Egypt, Inuit tribes and various other cultural works of art and history. It's a fascinating place to spend a couple of hours.
