A fantastic building in the old quadrangles, great atmosphere and the Huntarian museum is very well worth a visit. Beautiful exhibits showing Glasgow's contributions to the world.

The old buildings are beautiful and there are various museums which are free to enter. The Hunterain museum is well worth a visit as it shows the various contributions Glasgow Uni has made to the world.

Just sit for a while on the benches within the quadrangle and let your mind float back to the past.- very relaxing and peaceful at any time of the day.
A pleasant meal may be enjoyed at very reasonable price.
Don't be frightened to ask questions - everyone will be helpful and informative.

Glasgow University is a fantastic place to spend a few hours. The main building is beautiful, recognisable from miles away by the huge main Gothic tower. Access is free. If you enter by the main gate and make your way through the building to the main quad you can enter the vaulted area in the centre. Carry on through and go out the main back door for great views over the Kelvingrove Museum and the west end of Glasgow.

Across the road from the main building is the Hunterian museum and University library. The Hunterian has a good collection of Artworks and for fans of Charles Rennie Mackintosh a fantastic reproduction of part of his own house displaying the original furniture and artefacts used by him and his wife. There are frequent free guided tours.

There is the university café next to the library which is open to all. It has a decent selection of hot and cold food and is reasonably priced.

The easiest way to get to the university is to catch the underground, getting off at Hillhead station for a gentle 5-minute stroll up the hill to the museum. Alternatively jump on the hop on hop off Glasgow tour bus which stops at the main building.
