“Good cafe/bistro on south side of Glasgow”
Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

I've been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is always to a good standard and whether you are just visiting for a coffee and cake or a meal you will not be disappointed. It is usually busy so you may have to wait for a table but don't let this put you off and do hang around as it will be worth the wait.

“Simple tasty dishes”
Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

I visited recently with my daughter and son in law who live nearby. I've been there a few times now on in frequent visits to Glasgow and have always enjoyed it. Whether it's just a quick coffee and cake or a full meal I can recommend the delicious food and also the wine, simple dishes done very well and reasonably priced.

“Fab wee restaurant, staff superb”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Cafe....Bar...Restaurant? All of the above, and does it all well. Last visited with a largish group for a birthday party. Food arrived hot and quick and Greg the Maitre D' was quick to meet our every whim. Super.

“Local bistro with fantastic home-cooked food”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

We don't live too far from Moyra Janes and have been a few times both for lunch and dinner. Every time the food has been of excellent standard and the service very friendly and welcoming. The smoked haddock ramekin is one of the nicest dishes I've ever had (and I've had it both as a starter and as a main course) - equally as delicious! We took visiting American relatives recently and they were very impressed too. We had a range of dishes including sausages & mash with onion gravy, macaroni cheese with garlic bread, Moroccan Lamb with rice & flatbread and the smoked haddock ramekin. All very very tasty - shown by our almost licked-clean plates!
The menu is not too extensive which always gives me confidence in a restaurant - to have a few dishes done really well always beats lots of dishes with only a few done well, in my opinion. There are also always a few specials which is nice to introduce variety according to the season.
The deserts are all home-made and delicious and it's nice to see the cakes to choose from.
Really can't fault this place - it's a lovely, welcoming, local bistro with tasty, well-cooked food at a very reasonable price.
