This little trendy restaurant has only recently opened on Elderslie Street/Sauchiehall St. It's a little out of the way but the friendly staff, home made cakes, great food and nice atmosphere made a nice choice for our lunch. On speaking to the server, we were informed that they do a great Sunday Roast. That will be our choice next visit.

This is the third time we have eaten lunch in Sideways and once again it was excellent all round. I had the best ever mackerel pate, the portion was very generous, and was accompanied by a lovely selection of salad items and delicious bread. The other members of the family were also delighted with their choices which included the pasta special, soup, the caravan, blue cheese salad and the baked camenbert We could not resist the baked cheesecake and the warm pecan pie with ice cream. They were delicious! Topped off with seriously good coffee.
Service was really friendly, helpful and efficient, so if you like good food in comfortable surroundings we can thoroughly recommend Sideways. Our next visit will be for dinner but will probably have to book as the popularity of this place is growing fast.

My boyfriend and I live just round the corner from Sideways, I'd never heard of it until we moved in (even though we have lived in Finnieston for the last three years). It is really fantastic! The staff are always really friendly and welcoming, the food is incredibly tasty, the decor is lovely and relaxing and warm.

The last time we visited I couldn't decide between two dishes, the waiter recommended the Tender Stem Broccoli and Blue Cheese Salad. Wow! It was the best salad in the world, The Blue Cheese Croutons were not like real croutons, they were like little portions of blue cheese with a really fine sort of breadcrumb coating and fried so the cheese inside was melted (they are my new favorite thing) and the rest of the salad was really tasty too.

This place is such a gem and the staff are really nice, I can't believe that they're not fully booked constantly.....

Would highly recommend this place to everyone in the world.

I went in a boy and came out a man. The draft beer tastes like heaven and the sandwich (chargrilled chicken with roast tomatoes) was beyond excellent. Sprinkled with service with a smile.
