This is the first time I have reviewed on here and we've just returned from a weekend in Glasgow staying at the Radisson Blu Glasgow. It was our first time in Glasgow and we had a great time and big thank-you to the Radisson!

The hotel was fantastic, we stayed on the friday and saturday night and on the saturday night, the place was buzzing!

When we arrived we were met by a friendly doormanm, Jan who helped us with our bags and escorted us to reception. At check-in, we were given some great recommendations for Glasgow from an Irish guy, cant remember his name but was wearing a strange jumper. Anyway, he told us to try a restaurant called Mother India's cafe and we did on the friday night, it was a tapas and superb. Great recommendation.

Our room was on the 4th floor and had a nice decor, was spacious and had nice toiletries from Arran I think.

On the saturday, the hotel is well situated for the shops and central to everything. The only downside is there is no loch view so if you are coming to Scotland for this, you won't get it here!
We then enjoyed afternoon tea at the hotel, they even had live music but our highlight was our dinner on the saturday night. The hotel were running a special event for Earth hour, a dining in the dark menu which was 5 courses followed by a fire themed cocktail class. It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. It had started with us being led by candle light through the bar to our table, quite an entrance!

We've stayed at other Radissons and always found them to be good but this one was the best yet. The bar was very lively as well all night but we didn't mind! Every member of staff we encountered was so friendly and helpful.

Apart from no loch view, the only other downside we could find was that the swimming pool closed at 4pm on saturday. It would have been nice to have an early evening swim.

Thank you Radisson, we will be back.

The hotel is central and easy to locate from Glasgow Central Station. The staff were very friendly, professional and the facilities were second to none. Breakfast was extremely good value for money and nothing was too much trouble for any staff member. After breakfast we enjoyed our swim in the pool followed by the Spa. All of the facilities including rooms, reception and bar area were spotless.

Should be a five really but if you're a five star and you're not perfect then you're going to be marked down. Fantastic designer hotel with chic and funky public spaces including two bars and a restaurant with lovely off-beat artwork right across the hotel. There's even a pool and er a pool table. Wonderful breakfast choice with chef's specials made for you if you ask. Large, clean, functional rooms in an understated Scandanvian style with huge beds and plenty of storage. Fantastic location right next to Central Station (barely noticeable) Friendly-enough staff.

So? Well my bathroom smelled of stale urine (sink and a tile or two cracked too) and there was a stale sick smell around reception....strange!

Was expecting 5 star, wouldn't say it was for one there was no mattress protectors on the bed and the quilt didn't look the best. The room was a great size as was the bathroom with a big
shower , liked the revolving TV , overall I would say good size room but very tired looking , I
certainly wouldn't rate it a 5 star was a little disappointed. I was expecting a more modern feel with a little more opulence and far better décor, fortunately the buffet breakfast was good couldn't fault it, with plenty of choice. I have to say I feel this hotel is over priced !

Room Tip: Definitely over priced , but great location!

I didn't believe some of the latest critical reviews of the Radisson Blu and I am glad I didn't.
It is true that,in my experience, Radisson hotels do vary in quality, some seem a bit tired,no doubt waiting their turn for refurbishment.
But not this one. Clean, efficient and a warm welcome from John, with kilt,on the front of house.
