“Central modern hotel”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Location
The hotel is next to the Central Station, you can walk almost everywhere and that's what we did with our 1.5 year old daughter. That the bisggest advantage of the hotel.

Design
It's very modern however as it is been noted before, the rooms are rather dark. You can also see that it's slightly dated furniture, walls etc.)

Fitness
It doesn't belong to the hotel, however hotel guests can use it free of charge. It has a good size swimming pool however all in all it looks rather dated and there is no area to stay around the pool or sauna to relax.

Service
Very nice, had a lot of help in terms of sightseeing and places around the hotel.

Had a great business stay for 3 nights and then stayed for a weekend break too. Ideal location within walking distance to all city centre sights and near to subway to get to other areas, like Hillhead, University etc. Just want to congratulate the friendly and attentive staff at reception, and in Collage restaurant. BIG SPECIAL thanks for having awareness of gluten free diet and having gluten free bread available for breakfast and dinner. This was much appreciated and is worthy of praise. Free wifi is great, the use of the gym and pool ideal too. Highly recommend quality of food, comfortable rooms, just get a fridge in the room and all would be even better!

Everything about this hotel is nice except for the in-room decor and lighting. Walls are gray and textured, and furniture is black. Very little natural light comes through the windows, given Glasgow's climate, so it is very difficult to see when you're in the room. If you intend to ironing black clothes you'll have to keep carrying them into the bathroom so you know where to press. You'd think that the decorator had never stayed in a hotel, and was certainly not a woman who has to get ready in the morning with a teeny lamp that lights one side of her face. Hotel has an arrangement with LA Fitness, which is an excellent facility if you don't mind being assaulted with high volume hip-hop music.

Room Tip: Ask for room with large window on a high floor

Great quality hotel with friendly and helpful staff in a central location in Glasgow.
The corner bar is perfect for a quiet drink and spot of people watching.
Simply have to recomend the breakfast, must be the best hotel breakfast I have had. You must be sure to try the haggis, square sausage and potato scones for traditional Scottish food.

Everyone in this hotel is eager to help. Customer service is 5*. It appears nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are clean and tidy and well appointed. free wifi included - though i found it a little hard to connect to first time around. My only minor moans - the bed is pretty hard for my liking and the tables in the restaurant are tiny, leaving little room for doing reading of any sort whilst dining in for one!

Room Tip: Room overlooking the central courtyard/room 638 is very quiet.
