“Breakfast in your room at no extra cost!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2011

My husband and i stayed here for one night - it is a fab hotel!

The location is perfect, about a 2 minute walk from central station and walking distance from the SECC (where we were going) although one of the car parks on the website is hard to find - our sat nav was very confused! We ended up parking in the Q car park next to the St Enoch's centre (about 5-10 min walk) for £13 for 24 hours (i don't know if this is a good price).

The hotel is stunning, we had a standard room on the 3rd floor - beautiful! Lovely big bed, very clean, dressing gowns and lovely and quiet. Check in and out was really quick and easy. We were soooo impressed that you can have breakfast in your room at no extra charge - just fill out a form and hang it on your door before 2am. The food was delicious and delivered when we asked it to be delivered. I never go and have breakfast in hotels so it was lovely to have breakfast in bed.

Only downside was the service in the bar was slow and poor. It took ages to get a round of drinks and when they eventually did arrive mine was missing! Quite pricey too. It is a very nice bar with comfy chairs.

Would definately stay here again.

Myself and my partner stayed here for two night on a little weekend away and we were pleasantly happy with our stay. The rooms and the public areas in the hotel were very well kept and very clean. The rooms are not breathtaking but are definitely luxurious compared to the standard hotel rooms. The location if the location of the hotel for shopping, resteraunts, etc. is second to none.

The only thing I would say about this hotel is that we simple could not afford to drink here! We ordered a cocktail each (which were the smallest drinks I've ever been served) which came to £15!!

Writing this review after a much disputed stay at the Glasgow radisson. After using my debit card to be checked in I have tomdate been charged in the region of 2000 euros for my two night stay...even after an apology from hotel about staff incompetence they continued to charge my card a further 810 euro, my bank card ahas now been frozen thanks to a clerical error on the hotels behalf. Plus paid to upgrade to a buisness class room after complaint about room condition I was told that the floor I was upgraded to was the only floor not to be reconditioned go figure. Phoned hotel tonight to complain and not received reply from them.

Attended a gig at the SECC, pre Xmas, and this sprung to mind due to the great breakfast they do ( walk ins invited from memory ). Great gig, great great staff at the door, reception and really welcoming at the downstairs bar area. Our room was on the 4th floor and effectively round the corner from the main drag, thereby ensuring a quiet night.

Thouroughly recommend this hotel for the same type of trip. They have great parking rates with an adjacent multi storey car park.

Thanks Rad !

I will be staying at this hotel again, however I am only comenting on the star rating because of the premium price tag which is paid. The other comparable 5* in glasgow centre is the hilton, which is most definately a 5* but location is a bit off the centre.

The Raddison Blu has a fantastic location, even better staff, and two first class bars. However the rooms (and I stayed a a suit) are slipping slightly from when I stayed a few years ago. Hopefully ongoing upgrades will address this this (carpets, walls etc, by no means grubby, but need freshened up) and I must stress I am not fussy, just very rarely stay in a 5* and I wouldn't expect to compare it to a 4*.

All said I will be back. Great hotel, just constructive critism.

The Radisson in Glasgow really is a great Hotel and we stay here about 4 times a year on average. The location is extremely good, right next to Central Station and the main shopping areas. On our most recent stay, it was pleasing to see that the hotel rooms were recieveing a much needed a re-fit - we stayed in a 'black' styled room, which was very impressive (although the old pine finish was still present on the inside of our inter-connecting room doors, which spoiled the look slightly!!). Our room lacked a safe on this stay, which was really dissapointing - I was advised by hotel staff that the new safes were on their way, but they had not been installed yet, as part of the room re-fit programme (lets hope they arrive soon!!). The hotel service is always very good and I would definately highly reccomend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Glasgow.
