Description: A VIBRANT COLOURFUL ATMOSPHERE, FRESH FOOD FROM THE STREETS OF SOUTH-EAST ASIA, INDULGENT, CREATIVE COCKTAILS, AND THE BEST IN PIONEERING MUSIC FROM THE FRESHEST TALENT. WELCOME TO SOBA...The second Bar Soba restaurant in Glasgow, this Byres Road branch follows in the award winning footsteps of its Mitchell Lane sister. Soba is inspired by the street vendors of South East Asia and our menu touches on traditional classic street food from all over the region. Our aim is to provide the most authentic Asian street food we possibly can, to do this we source the finest ingredients and make every element for every dish from scratch in our own kitchens. We are passionate about our food and we believe that you will be too so why don't you start off with a selection of small plates to share, then grab one of our fantastic wok dishes or an authentic Thai curry then sit back and enjoy the taste of South-East Asia. We've also been creating great cocktails since 1999, always innovating to bring our guests and their tastebuds something unique!

We had a very interesting meal here, I really liked the fusion cuisine and haven't eaten anything quite like it before. I can't remember the name of my dish but it came with tempura vegetables, peanut sauce and spicy rice - it was delicious.

Unfortunately, the waiting staff were quite slow and inattentive - it was a struggle to get their attention at points, such as when I needed extra cutlery or when we wanted to pay the bill. Luckily, we were seated near the bar and the friendly guy behind the bar ended up looking after our needs. But that isn't his job to do - the waiting staff shouldn't be relying on the poor bar staff to do their job for them!

Also, bear in mind this is a noisy, clubby-type place, not a place for a quiet romantic meal.

Absolutely loved our meal at Soba on Saturday. I have been a regular visitor to it's sister restaurant in Mitchell lane and I think that the west end version is a great addition to the west end. The food was delicious and our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Also great value for money with their pre theatre deal. Will definitely be back for a cocktail as well next time!

Food looked good as it arrived at other tables but had to give up after 45 minutes waiting. Great location and staff pleasant but couldn't say why the food hadn't arrived or how much longer it would be.

Arrived at bar soba with 8 other friends on Thesday night about 6.40 the bar wasn't to busy wee got seated and got some drinks our order was taken about 7pm wee waited till 7.35 for our starters the chicken sate seemed rather basic and wasn't much of it. One of our party had prawns and they found a hair in there starter. Wee eventually got our main meal just after 8pm pleased to say after the long wait the slow cooked beef curry was really nice a good choice. How ever getting served was very slow ordering more drinks was very slow constantly empty glassed and all this on a Tuesday am glad wee never tried bar soba at a busy time .

We visited Soba slightly weary in light of the reviews given but our fears were totally unfounded. The place had a really nice atmosphere, the staff were great and we enjoyed the food. The cocktails were amazing and it was reasonalby priced. We maybe got lucky with it being quiet but the staff were attentive, my sister found her cocktail to strong so they took away and added a bit of apple juice to calm it down which we thought was great. We didn't wait a long time for food and when it was brought out it was great, really fresh and tasty. We'll definelty be back and my porr hubby will definetly be leaving the car at home next time so that he can enjoy the cocktails as well.
