it has two lounge bars and you can take your drink in to the theatre with you, everyone goes to see the film (no talking etc) on some nights you can meet the director after the show

“A CINEMA TO DIE FOR!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

Want to see a film in peace, perfect peace? No annoying conversations, no sweetie papers rustling, no cans being opened? AND the best International film releases? THIS IS THE PLACE! So please check it out but please DON'T bring your blockbuster cinema goers with you, unless of course you have retrained them!

“give this lovely place your support”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

this is a lovely old cinema run by volunteers who always greet you so warmly when you arrive. the seats are definitely the old kind i remember sitting in when i was a kid and its lovely to see the vintage curtains and screen of what i call a proper old cinema. they always run independent films here as well as the mainstream. you learn so much from the independent films about whats happening in the world and its totally different to hearing of it in the news when you just numb out and dont really listen. many of the film makers are present to take questions and give answers after the film which is a unique opportunity to glean more info and get to meet interesting people. there are numerous film festivals on too. you really just should pop in and pick up a monthly pamphlet of whats on... too much to tell you here. it definitely needs your support to stay open so go along and you'll find unusual films and real nice folk inside.

“GFT Je t'aime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

Oh, oui oui. I love it here. Great films, great rooms, I even love the cafe (athough the service could be better, they don't clear fast enough so it sometimes feels a bit grotty, which is a shame because it should be great). Great date location. Good access for wheelchair users etc. Don't go to any other cinema in Glasgow - they're all rubbish, and if GFT aren't showing it, you don't want to see it anyway.
