The cinema experience that should be replicated wherever possible. Old fashioned style. Lovely retro bar. Excellent staff and unusual films

The GFT shows current in theatre movies, older popular movies and some really odd little gems.

The staff are always lovely and if you ever attend I would seriously recommend a midnight showing of something weird.

Most recently I went to see 'The room' with some mates, it cost £7.50 a ticket and we were given spoons to throw at the screen (a joke in the movie) by the absolutely fantastic staff. It's a wonderful little vintage cinema, just don't expect grandeur.

you really go back in time when you visit the GFT dont expect any thing like the over priced multi plex , it shows some really obscure films also that you would not see any where else , its a great place to go for the movie buff and to see some films you would not expect to see any where else .. a treat for a visit

My wife and I went to the GFT last night to see 'The Great Gatsby'. This was my first time to this venue in many years. I was very impressed. The place is very traditional and Art Deco. Its how a cinema should be. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. We paid £9 per ticket, which is much cheaper than its rivals, plus you don't pay extra for 3D and you are provided with good 3D glasses upon your arrival free of charge.
We will certainly be returning.

A lovely cinema, nice small size; considerate audience (no mobile phones, yappy customers, body-sized bags of popcorn, rank-smelling nachos & 'cheese'). You could've heard a pin drop at the most poignant part of the film - in a 'bog standard' venue, some half-wit would no doubt have cracked a 'funny' comment. Definitely a great experience in an absolute gem of a building.
