I've lived in Torrance for a number of years and seen the pub change management time and time again but they seem to have got it right just now!

I went for lunch with my mum today. We both had soup which was just lovely and our main meals looked so appetising and were delicious.

The staff and chef were very polite and would return for food!

2 courses each, 2 drinks each for £18 yes please!

Today I was at the Village Inn in Torrance for lunch. It was quiet but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had soup and fish and chips from the lunch menu which is a bit cheaper. We thought the portions would be quite small, but we were wrong! The soup was excellent and was accompanied by a large hot, bread roll. The fish was also very good and the chips were crispy. The peas came in a small toy bucket which was a novel idea. Will definately go back.

The Village in was quiet when we went for lunch. The Landlord who is also the chef made us very welcome. I believe he has not been there very long but has significantly improved the place from what it was although there is a little more to do to get to the very high standard he clearly wants to reach. The pub was spotless and the food was top notch. he prices for both food and drinks were very reasonable. Torrance is a little bit off the beaten track but if you are north of Glasgow for any reason the Village Inn is well worth a visit.
