This is by far the best of the local Indian restaurants around Kirkintilloch, bishopbriggs etc. I don't think it's part of a chain as some others are, appears to be a family run establishment, now well established in the area.
It's airy, clean and service is good, our waiter was very nice.
Went for a buffet meal although you could have had the a la carte if preferred.
Very Good choice of starters, salads, mains varied, mostly chicken or lamb and a veg option, all well cooked with one exception. Good selection accompaniments, rice, nan, garlic nan etc. nice popadoms !
Worth a mention is the chicken tikka and the red fort lamb I think it was called, fantastic flavours and both very tender. Pudding - again good choices but I couldn't be tempted, too full, had the coffee instead.
Main complaint is the underwhelming veg curry, boring, dry, un imaginative - typical potato, carrot, peas etc not one hint of tina, okra or any other Indian type veg, come on you guys get a grip and as an aside your not alone with the boring veg curry - shame !
However I reiterate that this is probably the best Indian locally.
Wine selection reasonable and price just ok but I find the drinks mark up in most places in general is ridiculous and restaurants should be taken to task over this. The Indian cottage wine is marked up, that's clear however it's not quite as bad as some ! But take note guys give the clientele a break !
If more diners complained / commented about this then perhaps restaurants would start to take notice.
