The Ruby Palace is located on the south side of Glasgow. Parking - no meters around here - is usually to be found on the street close by. It's a relatively small place, run with passion and attention to detail by a welcoming family.
The menu is extensive and includes all the usual options, including selections for groups of two, four or more. There are pre-theatre special menus, too. You won't see the most exotic Chinese ingredients here - no ducks' feet or jellyfish - but what you will find is mainstream Chinese food - with nods here and there to Thai and Singaporean influences - that's impeccably cooked and beautifully presented, in notably generous portions.
The spare ribs are especially good and the salt and chilli ones exceptional. Prawn crackers appear on the table almost as soon as you've sat down and the service is superb throughout: as fast or as leisurely as you want it to be, and always cheerful. There's a good range of drinks, including Chinese beers and teas.
We've eaten here dozens of times and it's always been a real treat. I really can't recommend it too highly.
