This is our local restaurant. We absolutely love it. How fortunate are we to have this amazing restaurant right on our doorstep. The atmosphere is fantastic. It is a small intimate family run restaurant with great food, great staff and a real taste and feel of Italy. We go back time and time again.

“Are you sure we're not in casserta?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

We visited the restaurant after reading all the great reviews and with this in mind booked a table(very advisable)on a wet Sunday night. We are not from Glasgow so after a minicab around Hampden, the driver not knowing where it was,the Sapori was an oasis. We were sat down and took in its typical Trattoria's menu.As a three we decided to share a platter of antipasti followed by myself having the amatricana made with guancale (pigs cheek)typical of Lazio.I asked for a couple of plates so that my wife and mother could taste it.Surprise 3 plates appear with virtually a full portion on each but charged for 1.We all choose different mains, again you'll need a good appetite as portion large(2 share 1) no problem. The choice was great and the service first class and a lovely bottle of Nero d avola and a couple of large peroni and a bill for £81 for three is a bargain. The best bit is if you pull the blinds down you are in Italy, grazie mille.

“Fabulous!”

Read Tripadvisor reviews and though we'd give this place a bash........could it live up to the hype?....
Have to say we were well impressed ! Food was fab. Generous portions , great quality and great value. Opted for spaghetti carbonara and chicken with mushrooms. Presentation and quality was superb. Home made cheesecake to die for! Service excellent ...definitely be back

“A true Italian restaurant, faultless food, faultless service - perfect!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

What an absolute gem. We were visiting Glasgow for valentines weekend and after reading the reviews for Sapori we booked a table for the Saturday evening. From my initial phone call to walking into the restaurant our hopes were high and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is about 3 miles from the centre of Glasgow but well worth the short taxi ride. We started we olives & breads & a bowl of fresh mussels, delicious!! For the mains I chose the special 'sea bass' (Branzino) & my partner had Pollo ai Funghi - once again the food was faultless. We accompanied our meal with a delight bottle of Chianti. This is a very family orientated restaurant, Simona & her team were attentive, without being overpowering - perfect in fact!!. The restaurant itself is just what you would expect and the shelves are laden with tempting treats for all to buy. I have told all my friends and family about this restaurant. When I am next in Glasgow I will definitely visit again. Well done Sapori D'Italia
