“My birthday lunch”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

I went to this rather surprising place today on the recommendation of my sister in law (who is spanish). Very plain on the outside and rustic on the inside the food was as authentic as you can get outside Spain. We had a fantastic meal with great service and a very relaxed atmosphere. Baby and dog friendly which is always a plus for us. I can't wait to go back. Very reasonably priced.

Hey thanks so much for your review. We're really glad you enjoyed it . We're very proud to be a family friendly venue - pretty much what you'd expect in Spain.
The dance studios upstairs help with that - lots of parents enjoy some well earned "me" time in La Bodega while they wait for their kids to finish classes and we have family days on Sundays each month with tapas, dance & music workshops and games room - hope you can make it along to one of those at some time. ... and of course kids are welcome until 10pm.
regards
Karen

“for a fun evening”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

La Bodega is an authentic spanish gem hidden beneath one of glasgow's only truly independent dance studios. Karen and Alexis have made an incredibly special location for dance and for food.

This means that the atmosphere of La Bodega is often interlace with people who are warmly dancing salsa or tango on the spacious dance floor. Meanwhile, the menu is not overbearing. You can be confident that what ever you order; the croquettes or gambas, fried chorizo or anchovies, will be a great choice.

Make it a favourite.

“Authentic and delicious!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Quite simply, the food is excellent. I could not rate it higher - plus the menu is significantly cheaper than other Spanish/Tapas restaurants in Glasgow, particularly the west end. La Bodega offers an excellent night out, whether just for a meal or a full on salsa dancing experience! It's authenticity and brillianr service make it stand out from other Glasgow eateries. It is definitely one of Glasgow's hidden gems so I strongly advise a visit - and the garlic prawns!

Thank you so much for your review. We're really glad you enjoyed yourself. We try to keep a relaxed and fun atmosphere going - particularly on Salsa nights - we love the eat, drink, dance combination ourselves and we're so glad it works for you as well :)

“Well worth a visit.”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

I had heard great things about La Bodega's food so the delicious meal was not a surprise (the garlic prawns and spinach and feta pie were especially good).

What was a pleasant surprise, however, was how accessible it was. I can understand that people unfamiliar with the area have had difficulty, but from Partick it was only a quick bus journey along Dumbarton Road and then a stroll around the corner. Having indulged in some of their booze (which was reasonably priced) we chose to get a taxi back. This was no problem at all - it actually felt much easier than having to get home from town.

The staff were great and the price of the meal compared favourably to other tapas places in the west end. After having visited as a couple, I've since returned with friends. We had planned to head elsewhere for drinks after our meal, but once the salsa dancing started up it seemed silly to go anywhere else - a great night!
