“Not great.....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

Visited here for the first time last week since moving to the area. Cafe was recommended by a friend however I'm not likely to return. Although the food was nice, I thought it was overpriced compared to other similar cafes in the area - seemed more like "west end prices" in an inferior setting. The waiting staff didn't seem very organised, I waited a while before a girl took my order, at first I wasn't sure whether you had to go up to the counter to order or not as no one approached me or acknowledged my arrival. There were a lot of empty tables waiting to be cleaned and I thought this made the place look a bit grubby and uninviting. The atmosphere wasn't great with lots of small babies and children crammed in, causing it to be noisy. Overall although my soup and sandwich was nice I don't think I'll be making a return visit as I feel there are better places to try out.

“Nice wee coffee shop!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

I have visited the busy Biscuit cafe a few times and each time have enjoyed friendly and efficient service from the staff. Whilst not having previously ordered any of their cooked food from their menu (so I cannot comment on that) there was a decent selection of homebaking and beverages on offer for afternoon tea/coffee which I have sampled and enjoyed (piping hot and very nice).. While I was there recently the waitress was constantly cleaning the tables after each customer had left, chatting pleasantly with customers and welcoming back regulars. Very child friendly also and very welcoming to the tiny tots and their folks who came into the cafe during my visits. Nothing was a bother. Great for meeting up with friends or family, or just having quiet time with a newspaper or laptop in their more private seating area at back of cafe. Relaxing chill-out music playing gently in the background (e.g. Moby was playing while I was in). Prices reasonable too. Outside seating area always popular, whilst that part of Skirving St. itself becomes a great wee afternoon sun trap during the summer months - perfect for catching some 'rays' with a tea or coffee & cake while the sun just beats down over all of the little group of coffee shops there when the weather is good!

“Dull, dull, dull”

Dull food, decor like a rehab clinic and really the worst manager maybe owner the way the girl acted. Almost anywhere else in shawlands is better. This place probably should be west end - all hype!

“Very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

Great. Visited on weekday for lunch. Good menu, generous portions, good children's menu, prices reasonable. Staff nice. A bit dark inside. Child/family friendly, but plenty of room to avoid buggies too. Really good selection of cakes. Prompt service.
