I am a regular here but find myself constantly dissatisfied with how dark and cramped it is. I get that it's quirky but it isn't comfortable so i often find myself not sticking around for another cup. The service isn't great either- i come in at least twice a week and never once to the staff bother to chat. Could be improved.
The coffee is, however, the best in Glasgow. These guys really know what they're doing and it's all fresh and fairtrade. The food is also excellent and a bit quirky which fits the setting.
Definitely worth a try. Just don't expect amazing customer service.

This is quite a quirky little place with great coffee and a VERY laid back, arty atmosphere. Been a couple of time now, gluten free cakes always on offer which is a bonus if you have to watch that but still want a treat. Coffee is served small though , compared to others , large blacks not much more that a double espresso size so its quick to drink and you might end up needing more than one if you have time to kill! I’m not saying this is wrong, its great coffee and served properly, just a heads up if you plan on going in to take your time over a hot coffee, it’ll be gone in a few minutes. Only ever had coffee and cake so cant comment on the soup etc. Has funky if a little eccentric background music and board games too. A bit higelty pigelty in terms of lay out, a little warren, but I think that’s part of the attraction, and a church fountain for what appeared to be help yourself tap water, novel! Could be seen as a bit pretentious though, e.g. the first time I went I wasn’t sure how their menu/service worked etc, and server seemed a bit perplexed as though everyone should know this , kind of like a place that only has regulars and those regulars have to be super hip and have poems to write or studying to do. However, coffee alone is worth the visit if you are in the area.

This place is a little gem. I wasn't sure what to expect in regards of the quality of coffee when we visited Scotland, and a lot of places were quite hit and miss. But this place seems to have it sorted, they obviously train their baristas properly and use very high quality products. Some of the staff are lacking in a welcoming attitude though which might put some people off, but if you're just in and out to get your coffee like me then it wasn't too much of a bother.

Nice coffee and entertaining decor. Very very hipster, in a good way. I'd say it's maybe the best coffee joint in gles. But it ain't no Peter's Yard! [spon]
Staff are quite rude and it'svery cramped. Good.
