Having previously stayed at a different travelodge I was actually pleasantly surprised by this stay. Staying one night prior to my Glasgow 2014 interview the room was very clean and fresh receptionist was very helpful.
- Free Wifi
freshly revamped hotel ( 18/7/13) that is on the southside of the river but 15 mins walk from city centre, with free parking and friendly staff. next door to Kinning park, italian, chinese. mexican eats.
Building work caused many problems, dust, noise and paint also had to raise some safety issues - dangerous step being one of them. Room clean and spacious and despite being next to a motorway junction was not as noisy as the builders, mixed staff experiences - felt some of them could have been a bit more welcoming and helpful, some problems should improve once builders have gone. However was only told after I made the booking that they would be there when I stayed.
Pros: Unusually comfortable beds - proper pillows not standard T-lodge thin pads!
V large double rooms.
Con: You need £6 taxi into town. Walk would be long and dull. Glasgow Central much better placed
Hidden away behind chippy not easy to see from main road.
Room was clean & tidy beds made and clean towels provided. Some road noise but not bad.
The area though was not very nice, we are 2 females and it felt unsafe walking back from town in the evening.
Maintenance work was being carried out at the time so did not see hotel in it's best light.
Stayed here mid week to attend a concert. Entry to hotel is via fire exit (8am -8pm) at the moment due to refurbishment which is not the best. Check in at a portacabin however staff were very good. Only 1 set of towels in room despite booking double room for 2 people. Bathroom door didn't always stay closed and also toilet didn't flush properly and this was in 1 of the refurbished rooms! Comfy bed though and no real noise from the ongoing work. I'm sure it will be ok once all the work was done. Room quite pricey though considering it is a work site at present. Parking good.
