“Great experience.”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Excellent value for money. Pie, fantastic, although a spoonful of gravy would not have gone amiss, pint very good, although, unbelievably no draught bitter/beer despite several excellent beers being brewed in Scotland (proprietors - please take note and remedy) and a fantastic short play of about 50 minutes.
Never felt so cultured....

“BRILLIANT”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

I think this is a highly underrated theatrical experience. It's extremely popular in Glasgow, and I believe David McLennan recently won "producer of the year". But over and above that, here is a theatre company that is accessible, affordable, versatile and BOLD. We performed an Arab play (in English) - two-hander that is VERY political and daring - and the response was extremely positive. (That's our photo up there!) It's just amazing, and it's not because I acted there. It's because not many British theatre companies are this fearless and versatile.

“Good Fun”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Enjoyed Summer Panto which was usual mix of expected humour and political commentary of its type. The enthusiasm of the cast even for the most predictable of jokes brings everyone in to enjoy the afternoon. Good value for the play, the pie and the pint or cup of tea. As the panto progressed we forgot the uncomfortable chairs and fully enjoyed ourselves. Certainly will go again.

“Culture with a pie”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Only in Glasgow can you soak up the atmosphere of a play with a real Scotch pie and a pint. Highly recommended, and in a wonderful venue in the West End. Try the bar upstairs for the finset food later in the evening!

“Getting under Glasgow's Skin”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

A great concept. Really enjoyable play - from the Shirley Valentine stable. And loads of locals for whom this is clearly their staple for Saturday lunchtimes. Pity about the beer (all cold and gassy with no real ale), but you an't have it all.
