“Being worked on”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

We stayed here for our shopping trip to Glasgow. I had stayed here previously and loved it. But as It is in the middle of being renovated, scaffolding was all over the hotel which marred any views of the square. We were not notified of this. The rooms are in urgent need of refurbishment and I did think £80 per night with no breakfast was a bit expensive. The staff made the visit pleasant as they were very helpful and friendly so well done for that.

Room Tip: If looking for a view of the square you will be dissappointed over the summer I would imagine becaus...

We stayed late May and really enjoyed the hotel. The room was nice and staff were very helpful. Good full breakfast included with the Club Room upgrade. Close to everything - great shopping and train station on the doorstep. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here in June as we had an early start to our holiday the next day. Very nice old lady of a hotel. Great location. Room was spacious and well equipped. Beautiful bathroom. Would definitely come back.

I stayed here on business at the beginning of May. Public areas were nice and looked recently refurbished. The receptionist was incredibly helpful and polite. We arrived mid morning and our rooms weren't ready. As we were going off to a conference at lunchtime she managed to get our rooms prepared well ahead off this so that we could check in. My room was on the second floor, room 231 from memory. On opening the door there was a musty smell. About 20 yards from the window was the railway station and that was ll that you could see. The room was in need of a new coat of paint and a general refurbishment although it was clean and functional. My colleagues heard the tannoy from the station at 4am the following morning although I slept through it. Location was its saving grace, right in the middle of the city.

I suspect that there are better appointed hotels in the city for a similar price and I wouldn't return to the Millenium in a hurry.

Nice reception area and nice restaurant that has great food. No boxes for food are given!
The hallways are a disgrace. They need painting, moldings need replaced and/ or fixed, carpeting has taped areas, dirty sides to the carpeting, filthy corners and the elevator floor is falling apart.
I was very happy with the rooms, newly redecorated, and clean, bed not very comfy, should be replaced, duvet warm and comfortable.
Toilet couldn't decide if it wanted to flush or not. I was sick one night and could have used a reliable toilet. Outside of the building is being spruced up but the inside is a disgrace in the hallways. I paid a lot of money to be a minutes walk from Queen Street Station but very disappointed.

Room Tip: Rooms all Semmelweis good but hallways a disgrace for the price. Check to see if they have been upda...

Stayed in Glasgow for a concert at the SECC. Location is brilliant, jump off the train and your there, which is great on a cold windy winters day. That's when it ends. You enter the door and you be as well be taken by your ankles at that point and shaken down. What a rip off. We payed £175 for a room, could have stayed around the corner at a Premier Inn for £99. The room was damp, smelt stale, old fashioned. Staff were not interested in the slightest, no customer service what so ever. At least at a premier inn, you get a clean, fresh room, comfy bed. Yes its no thrills, but the thrills of Millennium Glasgow are dire. The breakfast was in a word, inedible. First of all, its like a police checkpoint to get in the restaurant fro breakfast, nobody was on the door when we got down, so we went and got a table, almost immediately we had a member of staff rush over to us saying, quote, "I need your room number before you can go up to the buffet"....if it wasn't in our room package, we would have just paid when given a bill, no big deal!
On check out, we weren't asked how our stay was, if we need a taxi, if they can help us any further.
Very disappointed as we were referred by a friend who uses the hotel for meetings.

Room Tip: choose another hotel

I went here and was expecting a club room, which I got, I was also expecting a double which I did not get. I was stuffed up in the rafters with a bed squashed against a wall so did not sleep.

The staff were particularly unhelpful but I did get payment back and stayed the night!

I would never want to go back to this hotel and would suggest others avoid it as well.

Breakfast was as expected at a Millennium hotel.
