“Not what I expect from an ibis”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Two ibis hotels in the last ten days, one in czestochowa Poland,5 star for an amazing stay with free wifi in room,Glasgow, you pay!why?
The team who served me were excellent and very professional which you expect from ibis staff, arrived just before 22.00 and the team could not of been more helpful, got a meal from restaurant even though we did order after the main menu had finished, great hot food and very tasty.
What lets this hotel down is the hotel just looks shabby, the reception and restaurant area looks like something out of a dodgy 80's night club, come on ibis, where's your French style bistro you get on the continent!
I know it's not a five star hotel and its a budget but ibis on the continent seems more to care about its image than we get in the uk,the staff do a fantastic job but are let down by the interior of the hotel.
Good news though, ibis have changed the beds and mattresses which now give a really comfortable sleep,my room felt a little dated but nothing a lick of paint wouldn't put right.
It is in a great location which does make it great value for money for anybody on a budget or flying in and out of Glasgow.
I truly like the ibis chain, this is a good hotel, great staff, great service but its let down by its interior, this report may seem unfair and picky but come on ibis,be consistent across your chain

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for adding your comments on the hotel, I am pleased you regularly stay in Ibis and can confirm that free wifi is currently being installed and will be live from June this year. After our Suite Bed project this year and next will see improvements being made to all the public areas in the UK, I am waiting our turn as we speak.

Guests do have a choice and I do hope you will continue to use Ibis and see the improvements for yourself.

Kind regards

This hotel is well worth it. The room was clean and the shower was as powerful and spacious as I have seen. Breakfast was as good as most four or five star hotels and at a bargain price. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the deputy manager, Majdi Orifij, was extremely helpful and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. Next time I'm in Glasgow, I won't hesitate to stay here again.

5minutes walk from Kings Theatre and Sauchiehall Street, this hotel is ideal for a visit to Glasgow. It is a no frills hotel but is clean, modern and has a bar and restaurant. Well worth a try. Parking outside hotel is free from 6pm until 8am but you can prepay the parking meter for the next morning meaning you dont have to rise too early. Will go back again.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor and was totally quiet.

This hotel is often available at a very cheap rate which makes it an attractive option. The rooms are standard Ibis and quite acceptable but don't waste your money on the dreadful breakfast - certainly no better than the free one in the holiday inn express. Parking can be a problem as well.

Dear Sir

Thank you for your review, I am grateful for the feedback but do pelase accept my apologies that breakfast was not to your liking. We are always looking at ways we can improve and do need to know what our guests want. If you do stay again we have a discounted parking rate at the multi storey car park in Elmbank St, just in the next block it is £12 there for a 24 hour stay, you just need to get your ticket validated at reception then pay the car park as normal.

Kind regards

Have already stayed there twice and everything is from above average to excellent. The room is fairly sized and it includes one the most comfortable hotel beds I' ve ever slept in beating even 4 star hotel chains. The shower is also very convenient and tastefully decorated. Great value for money but perhaps not so much during weekends as overnight stays on Fridays and Saturdays tend to be pricey (in Glasgow in general). Extra bonus: late check out. More than a budget hotel in every way.

The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from Queen St station and for those of you who know Glasgow is near the Charing Cross end of Sauchiehall St. It is a typical Ibis with comfortable beds, the usual confusing TV, good room heating and a very powerful shower. Free Wifi is available in reception should you need it or you can pay for it in your room. There are a number of restaurants a very short walk from the hotel's front door and if you want it a Tesco Metro is around the corner. The price paid was highly competitive and I would definitely stay again
