“Excellent "no frills" hotel”
Reviewed September 27, 2011

Stayed here and wasn't sure what to expect due to it been a "budget" hotel.

Although it lacks room service (although you can order and take itself to your room) limited toiletries and no hair dryer in the room (although you can get one from reception) etc.. this is a good hotel ie, no frills to what I would normally expect in a hotel but this is reflected in the price £61 a night plus Breakfast.

The bed mattresses are a bit thin :-)

The staff are very friendly and the food is very good.

Will stay again.

This hotel is very convenient for Glasgow city centre and at the weekend there is free on-street parking.
I used on-line booking which does not allow you to specify twin vs double beds and on check-in got allocated the former - with an apology.
The room turned out to be adapted for people with disabilities which caused no problem except that it had a communicating door to the adjacent room. This meant that the two hour sexual marathon of its inhabitants was completely audible; not conducive to a good night's sleep.
In addition, the location and price of the hotel mean that it is popular with people attending stag nights and similar events. On the night I stayed, a group returning from a wedding talked loudly in the corridor at 4.30 am.
So, a reasonably priced, reasonably comfortable place to stay, but bring your ear plugs.

I stayed here on a Monday night about a week ago and was impressed by the standard of service we got from a few members of staff! Extremely welcoming and could not have done more for us. I would like to acknowledge their excellent customer service and hope it is recognised and rewarded. Thanks again and I wont hesitate to stay here again.

Mrs Benny and I stayed here on a midweek break recently. We had gone to the new transport museum during the day then checked into the hotel. Reception is modern, clean, welcoming and staff knowledgeable and friendly. We had room 228 which was very clean (bathroom 'pod' was very nifty and very clean!!) Hotel do a reduced overnight parking deal with a nearby car park, which was handy. Hotel is a wee bit away from the centre of Glasgow, however it is only a 10 min walk away. Loads of nice bars nearby, (Slouch etc). Overall great value as room was only £39!!!!

Stayed here for one night with a friend as we had an event to attend in Glasgow. £50 for the night, room smallish but clean, en suite modern, beds very comfertable, right in the heart of Glasgow so no need for taxi fares & a short walk to the train stations. Overall this hotel is brilliant for a short stay! I was really impressed with the friendliness of the staff, lovelg athmosphere! Would reccomend!

Please do not stay at this hotel. It was a truly horrible experience. The room smelled like urine badly covered up by bleach. The sheets brought me out in a rash and when I went to take a shower I discovered that the towel hadn't been changed and was covered in somebody else's hair. Urgh, it makes me retch just thinking about it! The only positive was that the girl on reception was very apologetic as I explained my reasons for checking out early. Avoid at all costs.
