Stayed for two nights primarily to attend the Good Food Show at the SECC. I was previously a fan of the City Inn brand which this hotel was in a previous life. Superb location a few minutes' walk from the SECC and alongside the Clyde Arc Bridge and the crane on the Clyde. Plus points are the location for the SECC, Auditorium and the new Hydro (MOBO awards were on on the Saturday night and the hotel coped with being full really well) and the food, room, facilities and most importantly the staff were wonderful. We ate in the restaurant one night and the bar the next; both excellent. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were lovely for breakfast. Tourist bus stops outside and taxi to the city centre is under 5GBP. Housekeeping staff stood stood out too. Glasgow is a superb city and this hotel embodies many of its positive qualities.

Room Tip: We paid the supplement for a riverside room and felt it was worth it - even saw a seal swimming up t...

This was the first time I've stayed in Glasgow, and I couldn't have chosen at a better hotel. The bedrooms were light and airy and well equipped, and the bed was an absolute delight. The food and drink were reasonably priced and the breakfast was fantastic. Everything you could want.

I've been working in Glasgow for a year now and only travel home at the weekends so I have stayed in a lot of Glasgow hotels, however this one is my favourite. The staff here are so friendly and really look after you. The rooms are clean & tidy, beds very comfortable and although the bathroom is small, its big enough for the excellent shower. The iMacs in the room are great too. The restaurant is fantastic, food is excellent and the kitchen are really helpful if you have special dietary requirements.

All in all love this hotel and its staff and its always my first choice.

Well situated for visits to Hydro,Armadillo and SECC. Whilst bedrooms are on the small side they are perfectly adequate for short stays. Staff were all professional and friendly. Had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both were excellent with the exception of what appeared to be well diluted orange juice. Would recommend for visits to concerts.

Dear iggy16

Thank you for your review.

Please accept my apologies for the orange juice quality, it was not diluted however the supplier sent the wrong product and it was not our usual standard.

Kind Regards,
Brian

We usually stay here when in Glasgow to visit family or for a concert. The beds are extremely comfortable, the room is clean and well equipped. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good sized car park for a small charge. Transport into the centre is reasonably priced and readily available. Although it was a bit cold to sit outside this time, we enjoyed a walk over the bridge before dinner. Another very good stay at this busy but comfortable hotel. Well done to all the staff who work hard to keep the standard up.

We stayed here because we were going to the concert at the hydro. Check in went well and we were able to check in a good 2 hours before the recommended time which was great- the girls on reception were very friendly. The room was nice and the only complaint I have was that the shower tray was not clean and had hair in in but I sorted this myself with a quick rinse before using.

Prices in the bar were reasonable enough for a hotel and the bar staff were friendly. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and the waffle machine was a lovely quirky touch, something I have never seen before and I had to try it out.

Check out was quick and efficient and again staff were friendly and enquired if we had enjoyed our stay which is something I feel should always be done in a hotel but isn't always.

Will definitely stay here again if we go to a concert at the hydro of secc. We all had a lovely stay- thank-you

We stayed here for a show at the Clyde Auditorium. The hotel is ideally located for the Auditorium, the SECC and the new Hydro. The joy of not having to fight your way out of the SECC car park after a show and just having a short stroll back to your hotel is well worth the money.

When we arrived we were offered an upgrade for £10 (normal price £20) with complimentary car parking (normally £5 for 24 hours). We happily accepted. I think the only difference with the upgrade is that you get a nice view of the river and the bridge but it was worth the extra in my opinion. The receptionist was very nice and checked us in quickly offering us a low or high floor room. We took a room on the fourth floor which gave a great view across the river.

The room was quite compact but had everything we needed. There was decent wardrobe space, a laptop safe, a mini fridge, iron and ironing board and an apple iMac TV/PC. There was also free WiFi which is a must these days.

The bathroom was small with a good shower, a small selection of toiletries and was fine for a short stay.

The bed was large and very comfy with four pillows. The room had air conditioning which was thermostatically controlled and you could have the room as warm or as cool as you liked.

We had booked breakfast with our room and I'm so glad we did. Apart from the fruit juice, which was so watery I struggled to figure out which fruit it was supposed to be, the quality of the breakfast was excellent. There was the usual selection of cereals, cold meats and cheeses, bacon, sausages, eggs, haggis, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and excellent potato scones. My favourite part was a waffle maker where you could pour in a jug of pre-measured waffle batter and 3 minutes later had lovely fluffy Belgian waffles with a choice of maple syrup or golden syrup. Well done Hilton Garden Inn! There was also a choice of other cooked breakfast options which could be made to order along with tea, coffee, cappuccino, latte and espresso.

All in all I had a really good stay at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Anyone looking for somewhere to stay for a gig would be hard pressed to find a better located hotel at such a reasonable price.

Thank you for such a positive review.

I am delighted that you found breakfast to be of high quality and I am sorry about the quality of the orange juice. Our supplier delivered the wrong product and it was not to the standard we normally provide.
