“Really good hotel for a short stay”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Great location beside the AECC. Parking was £5 at the hotel. If your room is on the correct side then you'll get a great view of the Clyde. Unfortunately we were not on the correct side but it was only one night we were there. The hotel is extremely clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and smiled! Room was on the small side but had everything you require:hairdryer, tea & coffee, fridge, iron, safe (although it didn't actually work) and the best surprise was finding a keyboard and mouse in a drawer. The tv was also a computer monitor and the wi-fi is free. This alone would lure me back to the hotel! bed was very comfortable too. The next best thing about this hotel is the breakfast! Outstanding food. I was particularly impressed with the vegetarian option of sausages and haggis. Their poached eggs were perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a river view.

Stayed two nights on business and found the hotel to be very clean, and ideally located for my place of work. The free internet was fast and easy to use and the staff were all polite and professional.

Dear SteveAstill

Thank you for your review.

The iMacs in the rooms, in addition to complimentary Wifi continue to be popular with our guests and make us the ideal choice to stay when attending an event at the SECC.

This is the second time we have stayed at this Hotel and again, it was ideal for our concert at the Armadillo - SECC which is only a few minutes walk away. The Hotel is very modern and bright and the staff are all pleasant and very helpful. The room was clean, fresh and very comfortable and sleep has never been a problem after a good show!!! The Bar area was ideal for a light drink/meal before the show and this was certainly delicious and reasonably priced. The breakfast was lovely and ample options and it was so enjoyed as we looked out at the sunshine over the water and The Clyde Arc (Squinty Bridge. Will certainly be back.

Only stayed for the one night, on arrival. The. Reception staff were very good and efficient, the room was very clean and tidy and spacious. Toilet facility was excellent. If you get the right side of the hotel you get a view of the river ( even numbers) we enjoyed the use of the Apple Mac PC/TV.
Drinks in the evening after the show were served very prompt even though there w a lot of people wanting served at the same time. Breakfast was very good with fantastic staff assisting you. The staff were very helpful with instructions on getting back on the M8/80.
We would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Get the even numbered rooms for a view of the river and lit up bridge at night

Dear Graham Y

Thank you for your review and highlighting our friendly staff.

Due to our location demand can be high after an event at the SECC however every effort is made to ensure all our guests are served quickly and additional seating provided in the restaurant.

Staying at this hotel for 3 nights, I was not sure what to expect.............but I was extremely well surprised. Every member of staff I cane in contact with was friendly, smiling and helpful. All staff seemed proud of their hotel and genuinely wanted to make sure you were enjoying your stay.
The city cafe is superb and the food outstanding. the service from all is great but especially Chris, David and Alex who are a credit.
The rooms are immaculate, very comfortable and have everything you need and more.
This is a hotel that is a "joy to stay in" and you trully look forward to going back to the warm welcome from all the staff......thank you HGI ....

Room Tip: pay the extra for a river view as it is stunning, espacially by night

Highly recommended -
Location - ideal for SECC, and if you dont fancy the restaurant, theres La Rotunda italian directly over the road.
Rooms were great - I was impressed the TV was actually an AppleMac, so lots of channels and free internet connection, and wifi was free too. Ours had a walk in shower rather than over the bath.
