First of all it FREE. In the university ground three other museum in the area. My son who is 12 loved the roman, old medical instruments and of course the dinosaurs. Buses run regularly and you can carry on to the new transport museum.

The Hunterian contains so much interesting historical scientific material that it would be impossible to differentiate between them. Just go along to the University of Glasgow and have a look.

Wow, what a lot to see and learn. Hunter and Kelvin were very clever chaps. Chose to come here as reviews indicated that the Burrell Collection had much of its artwork put away because of water leaks. I'm glad I did because the museum and gallery kept me interested for many hours. Loved the Roman Scotland collection. Could do with a better cafe open on a Sunday in the holidays, the small student cafe had no sandwiches left at 1 pm.

This museum is beautiful. Perfect for wandering around on a rainy afternoon, and lets face it, there are loads of those in Glasgow! When I went at the end of March, there were lots of Roman exhibits, and also lots of natural history and scientific exhibits to leisurely stroll around and look at. Its totally free, and also, while you are there, go out into the cloisters of Glasgow Uni, and see the beautiful buildings that look like something from Harry Potter. You will not be disappointed with a visit to the Hunterian Museum!
