Owner description: The Tall Ship at Riverside is one of Glasgow's most unique visitor attractions! Rated as 4 Star visit by Visit Scotland we aim to transport you back to when the SV Glenlee was an operating cargo ship. Built on the River Clyde in 1896 is one of only 5 of her kind still afloat in the world today and she is the only one in the UK. Climb aboard for this rare opportunity to explore every nook and cranny of the ship including the Captain's Cabin, Children's Play Area, Engine Room and the Cargo Hold Cinema. Take a tour of the ship using our Audio Guide facility and enjoy a coffee while you browse for souvenirs.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Worth a visit if you are near. Not a lot to do/see but nice to get an idea of what life would of been like onboard.
It's good that its near a museum.

“Nice lunch”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

After our visit to Riverside Museum, we walked over to where the Tall Ship is berthed. We enjoyed walking around the various decks and decided to have lunch aboard. The girl was very attentive and soon brought our delicious lunch to the table. Had a giggle at the coffee machine, a sign saying "no posh coffee served here" was attached to it. We enjoyed the hour or so spent there.

“History come to life”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Reminds you what it was like for those who did their business on the sea over 100 years ago. We owe them a great deal. My oldest son did some work when the Glenlee was being restored.

“WOW well wortha visit!”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

This attraction was free but it was "suggested" that you would buy a guide of the ship for £4 which we did. Yes it's a big ship so if you are not interested in ships don't go but this is veyr well thought out and flows well....you can really imagine what it must have been like aboard this ship. Not a life I would like and you would REALLY have to get on with your fellow shipmates.
If you want someting different to do, this is it. :)

“Very poor indeed”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

45 minutes to wait or a snack!!! Poor quality gift shop... Kids play area in a historic vessel? I think not... Overall this old ship has an air of neglect about it. Old polythene covers over deck houses, poor attention to detail in paintwork. Lack of staff for information, I have visual & hearing problems so sign boards and audio link of no use. Too many kids running around unsupervised (Schools). This detracts from the overall experience of the ship. Yes, others have given it 5 stars but maybe they need to revisit and be more honest in their opinions, most people I talked to were of the same opinion as me, very poor indeed.. Buck up your ideas Tall Ship..
