I couldnt beleive this was all free. There were trains planes, buses, ships and all sorts of interactive educational things for the kids to do. Unlike many places, they aren;t out to rip you off with cafe or resataurant prices, as the kids lunches were only £2.95 for sandwich, crisps, yoghurt, fruit and a drink. the kids didnt want to leave!

the Kelvin Hall site. Why call it the Riverside Museum ? Tourists would think it was a Maritime museum not a Transport Museum.Did not like the idea of putting cars on "shelves"~how can you have a good look at them?

I found it a little bit dull and uninspiring and found myself leaving soon after arriving there. The location is probably the only thing I liked about this particular museum.

Day out with three 10 year old grandchildren who tell us they saw much more when they didn't have younger brothers and sisters with them! Lucy really liked the period clothes and the street. Jamie enjoyed the video showing you how the steam engine had been lifted up on to the upper floor. Jack loved the motor bikes and the cars; papa who drove steam engines when much younger took the opportunity (again) to recount his tales! I loved the ships and seeing so many different interesting exhibits with great stories.

We spent an easy three hours and enjoyed some drinks and cake in the great wee cafe which was very reasonable with a decent cup of tea and speedy service.

There are several rest areas where you can take the weight off your feet and the toilets were spotless.

The museum was busy with lots of families but plenty of space and didn't stop up seeing or doing anything. There were lots of little extra activities such as RSPB corner with colouring in and information.

Great day out for families as it is free entrance - although donations are welcome.

Plenty of information on what's in the wider Glasgow area. We used public transport as it is always a treat - the bus service from riverside to George Square is welcome.

Really great afternoon out.
