“take a walk down and enjoy the place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

I visited the Mitchel library to see Mark Millar talk at the Aye Write festival. This was my first visit to the library and I had an amazing time.
The building is beautiful and cavernous in places with so much to see. The auditorium is a good size so if you are seeing something there you should not be disappointed.
Also there is a great little café if you fancy a bite to eat while reading a book.
This is a gem and I encourage all to take a walk down and enjoy the place.

“Not just a library”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

Went here for a book launch which was part of Glasgow's Aye Write program. The whole building is alive with visitors and many activities. The cafe area is busy and all the pc terminals are being used. Staff are very helpful when asked for help as the Mitchell is a very large building and although we'll signposted a helping hand is most welcome and a lady member of staff led us to the Glasgow room we were seeking. This is my first visit and I was amazed at the diversity of events going on as there seems to be something for everybody. If you have not been here make a point of coming and have a look for yourself.

“Superb public space”

This library is a wonderful place to get some respite, a decent coffee/lunch and see some excellent shows. We went to see the Banff Mountain Film Festival in the auditorium - a very god venue.
