Wonderful hotel across from the Botanical Gardens. While not quite in the center of Glasgow it's an easy walk to many of the sites....the walk takes you through a lovely neighborhood with lots of restaurants and you can always walk through the Botanical Gardens as well.

The hotel is clean comfortable and very accommodating. We stayed for 2 nights - left for a tour and returned for another 2 nights. They were very happy to hold some of our luggage while we were on tour.

Good value.

Room Tip: No elevator so be mindful that there are some stairs. Very quite and comfortable.

Realistically it is a B&B not an hotel, bar - very small selection of bottled beers, no food in the evening. Room was very small, dated wall paper, carpets etc. Breakfast was excellent, food and service. Close to west end bars and restaurants, so food and bar not too much of an issue as long as you don't mind going out.

Room Tip: Room 6 single room very small, was watching Alcatraz on TV and the cells looked bigger!

This hotel turned out to be a very good choice for a two day visit to Glasgow. The room was not large, but not oppressively small either, and it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The car parking round the back was a little hard to find, but, once found, was very convenient.

The breakfast was excellent - or would have been if the machine-delivered coffee had been up to standard. (In so many B&B establishments, the only safe option is to drink tea with your breakfast - and this is one of them!)

Compared with other Glasgow hotels, this is excellent value for money. Recommended.

Small hotel, excellent location for university, restaurants, cool bars etc. rooms are OK - small, a bit shabby but clean (though the need to sort out the ceiling cobwebs). Good breakfast and charming service.

Recently stayed at the Ambassador Hotel with some friends while attending a sporting event.

Four of us shared one very spacious room which was very clean and comfortable and kitted out with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Breakfast was nice and all the staff were more than helpful especially with accomodating an extra guest at very short notice. We felt that it was very good value for money.

One of the great bonuses with the hotel is that there is plentiful free off street parking. Hillhead Subway is only about 5-10 mins walk for heading into the city and there are also buses and plenty of shops, cafes, pubs etc nearby that you can reach on foot. Taxi's into the city centre are not too expensive and there is a taxi rank just two minutes away. Nearby attractions are the Botanic gardens and Kelvingrove Museum.

Room Tip: We had a room at the front of the building overlooking the river which was nice

Unfortunately, the window wouldn't close properly - didn't realise this until we got back to the room late. It was very windy so the window rattled all night!!!
Breakfast was good but the dining room could perhaps do with some low level background music.
It gave my friend and beds for the night but I would only use this place again as a last resort.

Room Tip: small room on top floor with sloping ceiling - the rooms on the first floor may have been better. It...
