My husband and I stayed here, with our 9-year-old son, to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. (We lived in Glasgow for 9 years of our marriage.) The Kirklee very kindly gave us a top floor room with a beautiful view over the surrounding terraced houses and gardens. Breakfast was served to our room each morning (between 8 and 9), and we ate it at a table by windows with the view - that was great! The room itself was clean and well-appointed - just what you would hope for in a Scottish bed and breakfast. (You need to stand in the bathtub to use the shower head, but the water is warm and strong enough, etc.) The location was also great - very convenient to Byres Road and all the attractions of the West End, which were within easy walking distance, but it was residential and quiet at night. Our one disappointment was that we had no WiFi while staying there, despite several attempts to connect in different ways, and despite asking about it. I'd recommend it, but please fix the WiFi!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor - there's a great view!

We (two adults, one child) had a lovely few nights at The Kirklee. The room was very nice, everything was spotless, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We would certainly return, and will definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Only slight 'complaint' is that the mattresses were very soft, which isn't great if you...

My husband, 2 teenage daughters (19 and 15) and I recently stayed at the Kirklee for a 4 night stay. We would definitely return. The hotel was more like a bed and breakfast insofar as the setting was very homelike and intimate. Contributing to that homey feel, the hotel is actually located in a rather residential neighborhood (West end of Glasgow) (our beautiful big windows looked out on a neighborhood common garden filled with children, a lively dog, neighbors and several very friendly cats.) Indeed, when my daughters and I went out the first morning to explore, we conversed with the locals and almost immediately were invited to the neighborhood barbecue!

The person who greeted us and oversaw much of our stay, Linda, was lovely and professional and made us feel very welcome. She gave us a choice of rooms and was very accommodating on breakfast orders providing us a nice continental on the morning we had to leave at the crack of dawn. One of the nicest things about the stay was "breakfast in bed." The kitchen staff brought our breakfast, ordered the night before, to our rooms each morning at an appointed time. That was a real luxury!

We highly recommend the Kirklee for a stay in Glasgow and as a base to visit Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and the Scottish Highlands for a lovely day drive.

It's in a lovely neighbourhood not far from the city centre by the # 6 or 6A bus. The public areas are well maintained. Our room and bathroom whilst clean, was tired and worn looking and in need of a refreshening. The folding shower door did not keep the water from spilling onto the bathroom floor. The breakfast was average and served in the room.

We had limited hotel search for proximity to the Webster theatre in the West end (otherwise would have gone for better deals downtown). Many places booked out because of sports events in town.
Place is in a scenic old terraced mansion. Staff friendly, room clean. Location nice and quiet. Problems: no breakfast room, breakfast needed pre-booking (exact time to be specified) and served into bedroom (!). worse: teeny tiny bathroom-- I just about squeezed into the shower (and my BMI is fine), it will be literally impossible for many people to get in.
all of that for £80- ouch. Would have been ok for 40-50 AND if advertised as B&B but as it stands, can't help but calling it a scam.

Returned after a year. Still the same very warm, personal welcome, incredibly helpful staff. Superb, fresh breakfast served in room. Improved wifi connection. A very relaxing stay. Water pressure not too good on top floor, shower a little weak, but otherwise, a charming stay with lots of character.

I couldn't get a hotel in the city for a reasonable price. so went further afield.
This little lovely Guest House is warm and cosy.
We had the family room it was large, warm and spacious, big bathroom which was warm too, The only thing about the bathroom is that people need to be aware of is the hot tap is very hot !!!. Tea/coffee etc. was available in the room so was a hair dryer and telephone if needed.
Breakfast was brought to your room on a tray, a choice of Breakfast, Cooked or Continental, and there was plenty too, it was lovely to have breakfast in your room, sit in your PJ's and eat breakfast from a small dining table and chairs, in a warm room watching a little tv... very pleasant
and relaxing.
I would definatley go back for a wee stay, it is about 10 minutes taxi ride from Glasgow City Centre, easy to find once you come off the M8..,
