“even the toilets stood out for classiness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2009

Myself and my girlfriend had a wonderful couple of days in Glasgow, made even better by the friendly staff who were always on hand to give us help and advice.
I wanted to treat my girl to somewhere with class and quality without going through the roof on price, 10 Queens Drive was my choice and I couldnt have picked any better, even if I do say so myself.
We didnt realise how close the hotel was to hampden stadium, she's really keen to come here again for a big concert and I know I'll be here with the lads for the football.

We work long and hard and always plan or breaks and holidays with care - hence spending a great deal of time sourcing the hotel for our Glasgow break - smaller style with a personal touch - we made our reservation several months in advance only for the hotel to cancel our reservation with only 12 hours to go before we arrived - along with the pathetic excusues for the cancellation and tried to fob us off with some unserviced loft apartment instead - no resturant - no nothing - needless to say this left us with very little time to find an alternative and instead ending up staying in a large multi chain hotel which is just our idea of hell - but we tried to make the most of it - to be honest it really spoilt our holiday - so whatever you and as proven - Do not put your trust in this shower - they are only going to let you down - big time!!!!!.

Dear Guest,

We are disappointed that you have chosen to deal with this dispute in this way. We understand your disappointment at being relocated and apologise for the inconvenience caused. There was damage to the room allocated to you and this had to be closed until it was repaired. You had booked through expedia and they do not allow us to contact you directly. We notified them over a week before you were due to arrive so we are astonished that they gave you 12 hours notice. We had also relocated you to a 4 star in the city centre which had a multitude of exceptional restaurants on their doorstep.

You have given us a bad review on value, rooms, location and cleanliness. You cannot honestly rate these as you never stayed at the hotel. We would like to invite you to come and stay at the hotel so you can honestly rate these. The service was also provided by expedia as it was them you deal with directly. You did not provide us with contact details when you called to complain and expedia would not give us any details for you.

Please get in touch with the hotel as we don't like you to feel like you have been unfairly treated as we genuinely had to relocate you for reasons out with our control. We again apologise for any inconvenience to you and your family on your holiday and would like to make it up to you in someway however we would appreciate it if you would amend your review regarding our value, rooms, location and cleanliness.

Kind Regards,

Number 10

Stayed here recently when we went to a concert at Hampden. It seems to be still a 'work in progress' but our room in the next building was beautiful, enormous with a huge bathroom. Everything seemed new. We had a meal in the dining room before going out and the food was very good and we were surprised at how reasonable the price was. The service was a bit haphazard though, with some people very good and some not so good - perhaps they were new too. It was a lovelyday and we enjoyed a drink outside before the concert, but due to the licencing laws we couldn't sit outside when we came back (after 10pm) which is a shame. All in all a good choice and I'm sure when it's finished it will be excellent.

my partner and i stayed here with some friends, while we were in glasgow to see take that at hampden our concert was brilliant but our stay at number 10/queens drive was just as good the hotel is very plush and smart like the rooms, the staff are great and really made our stay fantastic, the staffs genuine glasgow warmth and welcome wa just what we needed on our arrival,we even met the general manager ( william) who gave us great info on good local bars and best places to visit on our trip into town.if hampden keep doing concerts each summer or major football finals there can be no better or easier place to stay,as our time was valuable on our two night stay,

My sister and I have just returned from a week in Glasgow after a 31 year absence from our home town. Finding the perfect hotel was an issue until a friend told us about the Dunkeld Hotel at 10 Queen's Drive. Upon our arrival on June 15th, we were warmly welcomed by William and Nicola and then shown to our wonderful room ovewrlooking the Queen's Park. This hotel is very beautiful, but the real beauty lies within each individual member of staff. From Clair at Reception to Angela, Sarah and Laura in the dining room and Michelle in Housekeeping, we were treated like royalty with wonderful warm, friendly service. The meals were amazing and William's lentil soup was "magic" and warmed our chilled bones one cool, wet evening. The staff could not do enough for us.....it wasn't forced, just pure honest Scottish hospitality at it's best.

Our thanks to you all for for a most memorable week, a week we will hold dear for a very long time.

Sincerely,

Lindsay & Jacqui, Canada
