“A HIDDEN SURPRISE ON THE SOUTH SIDE”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We stopped in for a bar meal one Thursday evening, and were offered seating in the restaurant. Both spaces are phenomenal. The restaurant is classy and beautiful without being stuffy, the bar is cosy and inviting, modern and lit with ambient light and candles. I cannot praise this establishment highly enough. The food is of goumet standard, but reasonably priced, the dining areas are stunning and enough cannot be said of the staff, in particluar William the GM who goes out of his way to make you feel at ease and cannot do enough to ensure a wonderful experience. You will be blown away at this little oasis of peace in a busy and stressful world, from the moment you walk into the beautifully decorated and stunningly lit lobby, to the moment you reluctantly leave, planning your next visit. Even the toilets are beautiful and immaculately clean! Although we haven't seen the rooms, we are planning to stay for a couple of nights since we canot afford a holiday this year, and I have decided this is where I am having my wedding and reception - even though I'm not engaged yet! I cannot praise no 10 highly enough.

Your comments regarding your recent visit to the hotel are very generous and for this I thank you. I will certainly pass over your comments to the Team.

We do have a cosy little bar and fantastic Dining Room here at the hotel and I must say, we have had some great feedback about the quality of the food that is served. Certainly everyone who passes is more than welcome to come and experience this themselves.

Hopefully we might see you soon and show you what we can do for weddings!

We booked in to a 'club room, offering our guests seclusion and quietness'. First, the plus points. It was central for our needs, and does look over Queens Park. The dining room staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Quiet it was not. The front room, where we were, looks on to a busy thoroughfare with consequent traffic noise. We were disturbed by the constant banging of the front door. On arriving, there was no heating in the room, the radiator having been switched off. This was a cold wet, dark afternoon in January. The lighting in the room was totally inadequate, even with every light switched on, it was not bright enough to read. The bedside lights had dark flock shades which cut out any illumination. There was only one hand towel between 2 people. A note in the hotel directory advised if more towels were needed, to ask at reception, which was next door and it was pouring rain. but should you really have to request a hand towel in a 4 star hotel?. The first evening, we had a glass of red wine using the hotel's diposable glasses. When we came in the next afternoon, although our mugs had been washed, the dirty wine glasses were still sitting on the courtesy tray, with no clean replacements. Disappointing

Room Tip: Don't stay in the Townhouse if the weather is bad. We got soaked each time in the walk to the r...

May I thank you for your comments, which are very constructive and as I have mentioned in previous replies to our reviews, we do take on board what our guests are saying and use them to improve our service offering.

The issues you have raised have been getting addressed, in terms of the noise disturbance from the front facing rooms and the overall ambience of the rooms upon the guest arrival.

Thank you once again.

I travelled up from the south of England to join 5 friends for a xmas get together as this hotel. Fabulous stay, Welcoming, Clean, Warm, Comfortable,Food was lovely but took to long to come out and long inbetween coarses. Breakfast was great help yourself and great to get black pudding . Sorry but orange juice was not nice and looking round most tables had left it. After a long journey would have liked a small snack but was told we could only have one of the starters. Sorry to be a little negative but would return so hope this helps. Never saw around the rest of Hotel as so busy catching up .

Room Tip: Three females shared Annex witch was lovely and spacious,

18 of us booked dinner. I am very hard to please when eating out. However, I can honestly say I could not fault the high standard of food and service. Good choice on the set menu, food was excellently presented, portions were good and it all tasted delicious. Service was quick and pleasant and food at the right temperature. Prices were very reasonable - food and drink. I will definitely be back. I have been told they do a Mon-Thurs offer of 3 courses for the price of 2 and a free bottle of wine. I hope this is true as I will definitely be taking advantage of that - and the fact it's round the corner from Crosshill train station. A hidden gem of a restaurant.
