“Great Customer Service”

Recently made my trip to glasgow for a short weekend break with friends, and we selected the Sandyford Hotel from a selection of internet bookings. very good location just around half a mile from george's square and kelvingrove park. Also to add a bus stop right outside hotel for easy access, the city open top tour bus also stops here which i strongly recomend.
checked in at 2am in the morning and the staff were very friendly even at this time ! i had single room 3 for 2 nights. very comfortable bed and pillows, bathroom was of good size and most importantly very clean ! good sized television and tea and coffee making facilites. room was well decorated and no outside noise heard.
breakfast was of good choice, and the waitresses were very friendly and proffesional. food was good, and selection of juice, hot drinks and other meals given. i choose the cooked breakfast which was very tasty.
the staff made this hotel for me, from giving me an umbrella to avoid the scottish rain, to supplying me with an iron and ironing board, all served with a smile and a friendly hello. they made me feel very welcome, and even gave us a few tips on where to go.
i would recomend the sandyford hotel for short break and couples, a different, independant run hotel, with a lot of character, something you dont seem to get these days on the bigger chained hotel

The staff very welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast plenty and wide range.
Hotel decor tiring but everywhere clean and functional .
Good local restaurants.
Easy access by foot or bus into town.
Right by Kelvingrove park.

Room Tip: 214 seems to have a lingering smoke smell

Myself and my partner were staying there overnight after an event at the SECC. It was easy to get to and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. It was clean and nicely furnished with tea and coffee facilities provided and a tv. We both had a good night's sleep and found the room to be lovely and warm throughout our stay, which was a nice contrast to the weather! In the morning we headed down to breakfast and were treated to tea, coffee, cereals and a hot breakfast all included in the stay. All in all we found it to be great value, convenient and hassle free with a few bonuses (such as the breakfast) making it a very pleasant stay.

We stayed here for one night at the weekend as we were going to the secc. Was a bit disappointed with the room as it was as far from reception as possible (3 flights up right at the end), the room was a small attic room, but was perfectly adequate for what we needed it for. Comfortable bed, tv with free view, tea and coffee facilities. A shower and toilet (in a tiny space bit fine). The toilet and hotel was a bit dated (ie decor and tiles in toilet wise), there was a slight musty smell.
The hotel was clean enough and very comfortable. The secc is within walking distance, so are lots of pubs. We never needed to get a taxi anywhere.
The breakfast was good and the girls serving were extremely good, friendly, and efficient. The guy that seemed to be running it (on reception the evening before) and cooking breakfast was also really nice.
The hotel was clean, (although not spotless), there was a reception area to wait with tea and coffee available too. There was free wifi.
Overall we were extremely happy with this hotel. Would definitely go back for the price we paid.

Came up for a wedding with my boyfriend and was given a great room on the side so it was a little quieter (he's stayed at the Sandyford before and likes it). The staff was really helpful, and the breakfast ladies were extremely pleasant! The location can't be beat and you can get around the city without too much hassle - the Riverside Museum is definitely worth a visit (was by far one of the best transport museums I've been to)

Breakfast is really good - The porridge is worth a shout out as is the Scottish breakfast.

Our room was clean but on a bit of a closer inspection, there was some stuff behind the furniture. I found this out when my concealer fell down behind the drawers and I had to move it to get it. There was a bit of debris behind there which could have been sucked up by a bit more thorough vacuuming. Our shower also had terrible water pressure which didn't matter too much as we got clean in the end but it was something that we both noticed. Otherwise our room was really comfortable - we loved the two duvets.

Having stayed here on 2 previous occasions and really enjoying these stays I felt quite confident booking another room here. Unfortunately it wasnt as enjoyable as our previous stays. Nothing wrong with the room itself as it was a good size and very clean which is the most important thing. The shower pressure was very poor with hardly any water coming out at all. Pillows in our room were not great, very lumpy and soft which didnt make for a good sleep.

We did get a good rate for a triple room with breakfast included but the breakfast was a bit of a disaster. There were quite a few people waiting when we got down being told they would get a call back when there was a table ready. We got a table quite quickly but put this down to timing, The service itself was very good and I felt sorry for the waitress who was having to deal with irate people wanting a seat. The coffee machine wasnt working aside from the hot water button but this was not made clear. When our breakfast was served the eggs were burnt and the sausage was not of good quality, very watery. I hate leaving any meat but could not eat it all and overall found the breakfast very poor. Was glad it was included in the price of the room as did not have to be paid for seperately.

Just disappointed overall that it did not match my previous stays and am unsure as to whether i would stay here again,
