I don't know where the good reviewers stayed before ? The room I stayed smelled bad, damp and humid. The bed uncomfortable; no tissue in the bathroom; I guess toilet paper is good enough. No internet working in the bedroom. I had to go into the lounge area. They had technical problems for the two nights we stayed; so let's giving them a chance that you may have internet ? Rooms are noisy with constant hum from the highway and you hear all the activities in the next room. We had dinner and the food was average to UK standard and bad for french standard. The staff was pleasant on the positive note, so I will give them credit. Don't ask them for help with suitcases or else; it is not in their training course. Overall, a bad experience that I wanted to shorten as, staying in a IBIS would have been more pleasant; so I am not being picky here. Yes, the picture of the old stately house looks nice on the outside; it is all bad inside. Stay away if you are visiting Glasgow and go in another place in the center of town.

Stayed in this gem of a hotel for one , a couple of weeks ago. A warm welcome upon arrival. A large lounge to relax with a drink and a book. Stayed in one of the lodge rooms. Large and well appointed. Peaceful and quiet location. Dinner was really good. Excellent choice and good value. I will make a point of staying here next time I am in Glasgow.

A very imposing building from the outside; which looks spectacular when illuminated at night. Sherbrooke is close to the motorway and easy to find; with a large car park at the rear of the building. Check in went swimmingly. We were staying as part of a wedding party and had a family room near the top of a turret. Which meant dragging our luggage up one wide and two narrow staircases. I'm presuming our room was one of the cheaper rooms in the hotel and as such I consider it to have been adequate. Our room was warm, quiet, comfy and had a large bathroom, with both shower and bath. Our room also had outstanding views of the city, especially at night.
I particularly enjoyed breakfast. Guests can choose from healthy options to fry ups. The black pudding is the nicest I have ever tasted; however replenishment was a little slow on occasion. Having said that; one guest arrived a little late for breakfast and the staff had cleared everything away. However it appeared to be no trouble at all to provide the desired fry up. (A big well done for that).
The public areas in the hotel are beautifully decorated in my opinion. The bars are cozy and comfortable and the function room and conservatory are first class places for wedding receptions etc. If I may be allowed to nit pick. I should have liked to have seen a larger selection of single malts though. (this is not intended as any sort of criticism)
Canapes were served whilst guests waited for the reception to begin; these being superb and generously distributed. Sadly though I wasn't too impressed with my starter; the Ham was a little fatty for me and the Melon was a fraction stringy. However the main course was absolutely delicious; a tad stingy with the roasties perhaps but everything was cooked beautifully. Pudding was a little different in that it consisted of three different deserts on one's plate and was very nice indeed. Members of staff who were waiting tables were rushed off their feet, so there was a couple of very small errors at our table; easily rectified by hailing another member of staff as they passed..
I must say that the staff at the Sherbrooke are a credit to the hotel and deserve a round of applause. Yes we all enjoyed our stay, my wife has recommended the Sherbrook to her boss and yes we would stay at the Sherbrooke again.

Room Tip: Go for the highest spec room you can afford.

Stayed for one night with my husband and found this to be a lovely hotel. Room wasn't quite ready when we arrived but we were a little early. The room was very clean and spacious, we had a separate bath and shower, good selection of toiletries.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent and the service was attentive. The decor was also a lovely mix of traditional and contemporary, which suited the old building. The roaring open fire was very welcome on a cold Glasgow night.

The staff are a credit to this hotel and this should be noted. They were all very friendly and the service at both breakfast and dinner was very good.

Do take the time to have a walk/drive around the hotel area as the houses in the adjacent streets have amazing architecture, very envious!

Plan to visit Glasgow again and would return to this hotel.

Stayed here for a friends wedding. We were looked after exceptionally well from booking to checking out.

Staff were very attentive. 5 star service with friendly staff who are not as stand offish or stiff as staff in 5 star hotels. Perfect balance of attention and service.

The food was exquisite. Breakfast was well presented and very good quality. The wedding meal was superb. How they can provide restaurant quality food to over 100 people at the same time is a mystery. Well done.

We held our wedding ceremony, reception and evening party at the Sherbrooke Castle Hotel on Sat 1st Feb. We had quite a few family members and friends staying at the hotel over the weekend too.

Big thanks to Sarah-Jane and William for making the whole experience a great success. The whole weekend went very smoothly and was hugely helped by the professionalism of the staff.

During the run-up to the big day, we were in contact regularly with the hotel with last minute changes and detail clarifications. The hotel staff handled all this efficiently and effectively.
On the day of the wedding, William took control of all the last minute details and lifted all of the stress and pressure from us. He was a great help. He remained calm and in control all day. This was noted by family members and other guests too.

The function room had been recently renovated and looked great on the day. The conservatory gave the guests a lovely space to relax in throughout the day.

Our room was a large four poster, well-appointed and spacious.

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Would certainly recommend to the hotel to all.
