Grasshoppers Hotel was a good experience. Very clean, comfortable and modern hotel. Located right above the Central train station (Union Street). Good service, great morning breakfast and good price considering the location. Highly recommended.

Great location to step off the train, drop your bags at the hotel and immediately start to enjoy your weekend. Complimentary tea and cupcakes delivered to our room on arrival was a nice touch. This is a very clean, modern hotel but slightly minimalist (no wardrobe, bath mat, storage for luggage). It was rather noisy during Saturday night/Sunday morning but the bed was comfortable and the room nice and warm on a cold winter night.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

We stayed here in January for 2 nights. The hotel is in a great location right above the Central train station on Union Street. All the great shops, bars and restaurants of Glasgow are within easy walking distance. Initially we booked the hotel because of the great price, location, free wifi and complimentary cooked breakfast. We received a warm welcome on arrival. The receptionist gave us lots of good advice about things to see and do in Glasgow. He even called to check the opening times of somewhere we wanted to visit. It was a nice touch that he remembered us on our last day at the hotel and asked if we managed to visit all the sights he recommended. There was complimentary fruit and cupcakes available in the hallways. They say in their brochure that the fruit and cupcakes are available daily but we only saw them on the first day of our stay. The room was lovely and spacious with everything you would expect. They supplied a complimentary treat on both nights of our stay and fresh milk for tea/coffee daily. The only downside was no shaver socket in the bathroom but overall we had a great stay. We would definitely go back.

Grasshoppers was amazing! The staff with Sean behind the helm ran a very comfortable, cozy and warm hotel. Everything from the bed, location, cleaniness to the morning breakfast was first rate. Ask for a room on the central train station side. Very quiet and an amazing view, especially at night. We stayed over New Years for almost two weeks at this wonderful hotel and highly recommend!

Conveniently situated right in the centre of the city;despite being next to a very busy road/main-line station it is surprisingly quiet.Decor is modern & stylish.Breakfast is substantial & complimentary cakes/shortbread are provided.
Staff are knowledgeable and friendly without being effusive. We were delighted to be unexpectedly upgraded to double rooms.
Highly recommended especially to visitors who are on a shopping trip or attending a show/concert.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the station slightly quieter than those overlooking the street.Book directly with hotel for best deal.
