100% agree with Paisley Buddy 1970s review. Food was practically non existent on the plate, we left hungrier than when we arrived. There were 16 of us booked for a Christmas night out and they had seated half of us on one side of the room and half at the other. Only because we protested so vocally did they change the layout so we could all sit together. We also had 3 people missing from our party and sadly their meals did not materialise, if they had we would have fought over them! Thanks go to the couple who won the shortbread and passed it round the starving masses. As for the pudding, I just want to know where my jelly was with that child sized portion of ice cream!

Attended death by chocolate last night with 6 friends for Xmas night out, OMG FOOD AND SERVICE A FARCE!!
Arrived at the bar for pre dinner drinks took 10 mins to pour 6 drinks and a tap water, then shown to the function room with 40 other guests, all seated, the table was wobbly and unsafe had to try sort it ourselves, took 40 mins for a drinks order to arrive as only 1 person on bar and 1 person to serve 46 folk 3 courses come on management that's a shocking staff to customer ratio, she had to take the orders (even though we pre ordered) then serve and clear everything on her own!!!!!!
Soup was bland, pate came with one yea one oatcake, when the main finally arrived the steak pie was the best choice as the turkey and ham was one minuscule slice with NO TRIMMINGS, even though it stated on the menu, and finally Chinese style 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Was suppose to be £42.50 pp but when booked was only £29.50 even at that very very poor. Get a grip guys people expect more than that and even though the service girls were stressed and harassed they were very pleasant.
Act itself was good and very entertaining that saved a very poor performance from the hotel side.
Will not return and await any feedback.

Stayed for one night last Saturday and that was one night too much. We thought the place would be full of character but it really is an overpriced dump. The paint was pealing off the bedroom ceiling, the radiators did not function, the staff clearly were not giving a damn about offering any serious customer service and the breakfast was average at best. This place charges about double what a Travel Lodge or similar charges and it is clearly not worth it. Take my advice and avoid like the plague!!

Room Tip: Apparently room 7 has a four poster bed

Thought I'd try this again for lunch after a not great experience previously. It has not improved. If anything, it's worse. Staff are very pleasant but the food was atrocious. Tuna and cheese ciabatta was as hard as a goat's horn and the accompanying tortilla chips were also stale. Friends got a club sandwich which was actualy a toastie and other friend's chicken ciabatta was equally as horrible as my own. The place was empty and now I know why. They are missing a trick here as it is beside Glasgow Cathedral which is always swarming with tourists and next to one of the city's major hospitals.

Sorry, will not return. This whole sorry episode cost nearly £30 for 3 mains and 3 soft drinks. McDonalds has a higher quality of cuisine.

Great hotel in Glasgow near the City Centre. Excellent pub with good food on the ground floor. Rooms are cheap, but the location near the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis is good and reasonably quiet.

It isn't precisely in the city centre, but it's a cheap taxi ride or a 10 minute walk from there.

Hotel has a lot of character, excellent rooms. Service quality was outstanding.

I stayed for one night. Great hospitality. The hotel is has 7 rooms and has loads of good old character. Impressed with the large room and bathroom. Staff have been very polite and welcoming. I had a meal in the bar. Not a massive menu but a plenty variety. Steak and ale pie was great. The choice of drinks was good.
Happy to recommend.
