We stayed recently as part of a Great Rail Journey to the Highlands. We were really pleased with the location which is central but still managed to be fairly quiet even when we had the windows open. The stations are close and there is safe parking across the road.
The staff were charming, helpful and friendly from the very beginning and nothing seemed too much trouble (and they were able to direct us to where we wanted to go). The rooms are well decorated, beds comfortable, showers well above average and there are nice touches such as the free mini bar and an iPod docker. And it was extremely clean. And the breakfasts were absolutely fine-yes, you do have to sort out your own toast but that is hardly a problem.
I would absolutely stay again and would not hesitate to recommend it-it's a way better than average hotel and short of having a suite in a 5 star hotel (which it is not claiming to be) I doubt you will do better.
