“Extremely pleasant city centre hotel”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

We stayed recently as part of a Great Rail Journey to the Highlands. We were really pleased with the location which is central but still managed to be fairly quiet even when we had the windows open. The stations are close and there is safe parking across the road.
The staff were charming, helpful and friendly from the very beginning and nothing seemed too much trouble (and they were able to direct us to where we wanted to go). The rooms are well decorated, beds comfortable, showers well above average and there are nice touches such as the free mini bar and an iPod docker. And it was extremely clean. And the breakfasts were absolutely fine-yes, you do have to sort out your own toast but that is hardly a problem.
I would absolutely stay again and would not hesitate to recommend it-it's a way better than average hotel and short of having a suite in a 5 star hotel (which it is not claiming to be) I doubt you will do better.

What a cute little hotel, good position, lovely clean modern rooms, Shower not really very strong but manageable. Breakfast was lovely as long as you didn't mind waiting 55 minutes and being told there was no mushrooms left although the person on the next table who ordered after you but received before you had plenty.
The reception staff knew nothing about the local area, restaurants, directions, culture, it was quicker for me to go to my room and search for myself.
The fire alarm went off one night, we walked down from the 5th floor along with others to find no staff outside to tell us what to do. We backed straight back into the hotel, the restaurant and bar was buzzing like nothing had happened, the reception staff were dealing with guests that had just arrived and there was about 20 guests, like us who had been woken up and come down only to be casually told, it was a false alarm and to go back to our rooms.
It was obvious that the staff had no system in place for dealing with emergencies. I have written to HOliday Inn and have received an unacceptable response!

Room Tip: Don't use this hotel if you require like me, a good concierge service.

My husband and I stayed three nights here and could not have been happier. From the beautiful room, comfy bed, nice linens, free mini bar (what????) beautiful breakfast. I had perfect poached eggs all three days. The fruit was gorgeous. The staff were great all the way through the hotel and it was so clean! Stellar stay!

We stayed for just one night on our last night in Scotland. The theme "indigo" is creative, but a bit tacky, but no big deal. Some may even find it fun.
At one point i went voyaging for ice for the room. Which was located a few floors away. No problem, I just took the stairs. There are small room off the hallways that lead you to the stairwell, and the lights in these small rooms operate on motion sensors. Upon entering the room on my way to the stairs, i nearly stepped on three platters of old food that sat on the floor. Because these rooms are so small, and the food was so old, the smell was rank and intrusive. I thought it must be kids being lazy or something. But every one of these room's I encountered on my journey was the same. One was near vomitous, containing old milk from breakfast many hours earlier.
I called the front desk, thinking it was probably some lazy cleaning person, but was told this was normal until there are enough dirty dishes to fill a cleaning cart. Wow.

We stayed diner, bed and breakfast for one night in October in Executive Double Room. Although having booked some months before we were given a disabled access room. I tried to change the room but to no avail. The room was fine but the bathroom floor was soon soaking and with all the the grab rails it didn't look very appealing.
As we were going to a concert we booked an early dinner which we both enjoyed.
Breakfast the next morning was very different. I ordered the Traditional Glasgow Breakfast with no black pudding and my wife wanted poached eggs on toast. We were told that because they were busy it would take about 15 minutes and my wife would have get her own toast. Don't know about u but we prefer poached eggs on warm toast. The cooked breakfast came after a few minutes nothing like the 15 quoted. Mine came with black pudding and my wife's as 2 eggs on a cold side plate. So off to get her toast. No bread along with no glasses for juice and very few cereal bowls. The cooked breakfast was very poor. Badly cooked and tasteless. The sliced (or Lorne) sausage was awful. Then it was off to get some toast. Returned to table to find it cleared with cup of tea and juice gone. We have stayed in many hotels in Glasgow but this was easily the worst breakfast we have had. A £1 breakfast in IKEA is better.
The free wi-fi was hopeless. It was reasonable in the entrance lobby but soon disappeared as you go to the bedrooms.
A plus point were the staff who were all pleasant and helpful.
Have read so many good reviews of the Indigo we were really looking forward to our stay. It wasn't cheap and we expected something special but we were very disappointed.

Hotel Indigo Glasgow should be the standard for all hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our say there and hope to find other hotels from Indigo in our future travels!
No matter where I stay, service is so important to me. Here, the front desk greeted us with a smile, and each question and request was received and handled with professionalism and ease.
The location is great - only steps from Glasgow Central train station, which means you can check in to your hotel within minutes of your train's arrival. We also walked to the main shopping areas of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street in no more than 5 minutes. Glasgow is relatively walkable in general, and Hotel Indigo is quite central,
The rooms are beautiful! They are modern, yet homey, and make the experience feel very special. While our room was not huge, the high ceilings and smart décor made us feel very comfortable. The bed was perfect, the pillows were great and the overall aesthetic of the room was very appealing. The view of the street was even interesting!
The washroom was one of my favourite parts. It felt very chic and luxurious and the rain shower was a treat!
One negative: The closet space was minimal. I had to ask for more hangers, but they brought the right away!
Overall, I loved this hotel and my husband and I would recommend it to anyone. The right location, price, service and comfort that you could hope for in a hotel. Great job Hotel Indigo!

Room Tip: In any hotel, I always ask for a quiet room (and an upgrade, if possible!). Our room was on a corner...

Just returned from weekend break at this hotel with my daughter and granddaughter.
Service was amazing, nothing too much trouble for all staff.Room was large enough for us all to share and very peaceful considering where the hotel is located.IT is only a short walk away from all the shopping areas and a short taxi from both stations if you have luggage.
We had breakfast both mornings in the hotel and service once again excellent., Good variety of continental breakfast and cooked breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Cher on the desk was especially helpful and chatted with my young grandaughter every day.
So good location, great service, nice rooms, great breakfast. Bit pricy but it is Glasgow!Look for offers as definately worth a visit.

Room Tip: We were on 3rd floor and extremely quiet. had ice making machine outside room but only minor noise...
