“would come here every night if i could!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

i have stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions now, despite actually living in glasgow on birthdays my boyfriend and i love nothing more than a night out of the house and this hotel is beautiful!

the rooms are lovely with lots of nice little touches- like the wall paper being of glasgow and dim low level lights in the bathroom in case you get up in the night.

the beds are very comfortable and the caramel wafers in the minibar are a nice touch.

we have eaten in the hotel and the sharing platter as a starter is AMAZING and fills you up so much there is no need for a main course. the staff were friendly in the restaurant but scattered and confused and didnt really seem to know what they were doing. also the restaurant is too brightly lit at dinner so lacks ambience but the quirky pictures of scots are really cool!

breakfast has been disappointing on both occasions as everything was soggy and underdone even though we asked for things to be "almost burt" like a real glasgow breakfast.

havnt used the spa as we are too lazy to get out of bed before we have to!

all in all this hotel is excellent but het your breakfast from the wee cafe across the street! i will be back!

paid a silly £20 a night for us both to stay here! But would have easily paid 5 times as much and would have given the same review. Room was immaculate. good size. staff friendly without being overly so. Slept amazing which i dont usually do when away from home. Rain shower was fab only problem was we didn't know how to work it but we never asked! had a early start so didn't stay for breakfast though i liked that we didn't have to book in advance. within minutes walking distance from train station (took us less than 5mins). Would recommend to anyone. Fab hotel. looking forward to going back.

Just back from a weekend break with my husband. We had a very friendly welcome on arrival. We booked a King deluxe room. Room was lovely - very big with a huge bed and big flat-screened tv. Bathroom on the small side but it contained a large shower (with a choice of 2 shower heads) and a large sink. The room was very pleasantly decorated. All floors have a colour theme. The 4th floor rooms are pink. There are plenty of mirrors including a wall-mounted full length one.
Our minibar was stocked with the items detailed in previous comments and refilled on the second day. Ten minutes after checking in, a "welcome plate" was delivered to our room that contained 2 mini doughnuts, a sliced strawberry and some dipping chocolate. A lovely touch. A newspaper was delivered outside our room both mornings.
I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat in the hotel. We did consider doing so on our first night but the menu was relatively limited and did not suit my husband. Being in the city centre though meant we had only to travel a few minutes away to find a nice restaurant so this was not an issue to us. We ate out at a nearby wetherspoons for breakfast.
I cannot praise the bar staff and the reception staff highly enough. Everybody was very friendly and helpful.
The lobby and bar are one in the same. There is no door between the bar and the restaurant which means that there is no separation from functions that take place in the restaurant.
Overall, we thoroughly recommend this hotel for people who are looking for a nice hotel to stay in while they explore Glasgow. The car park is literally across the road from the hotel and guests receive a 25% discount voucher on departure if you ask for it.

Had a fantastic 2night stay in the Indigo. Hotel is so central to shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms are lovely one of the best we have stayed in Glasgow. Didn't eat in hotel as on a previous visit we felt uncomfortable eating in the restaurant due the staffs attitude towards us. Couldn't fault reception staff who were fantastic. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in one of the Indigo Suites. A lovely room, great comfy bed, very functional space that met all our needs. Furnishings were so tasteful and luxurious just beautiful matching the architecture of the hotel. Bathroom was lovely but the water pressure was poor. The only downside. The fact the mini bar is included in the price was great especially when celebrating a special occasion.

Breakfast - disappointing. Food quality was poor, scrambled eggs awful, bacon fatty, Lorne sausage salty, etc. fresh fruit no kept chilled - edible but no where near the standards of the rest of the hotel.

Canapés were delivered to the suite but two sticky donuts a strawberry sliced with a few drops of chocolate sauce - was really not worth it. Tasted like Asda's not a boutique hotel.

Hotel is central to the town and a few minutes from Central Station. Adjacent car park is tight but it is great to access the M8 and M74 motorway without having to navigate the Glasgow grid structure of roads.

A lovely boutique hotel that is high quality except the food. Glad we ate elsewhere. Thankfully Glasgow is abundant with amazing restaurants.

Our room was clean and well decorated and the bathroom very nice indeed. Daughter's room was rather cold (front facing with lots of windows). Unfortunately we had an outside light just by our window, which despite good blacout curtains still projected through a lot of light. Despite the double glazing there was traffic noise audible through the window frame. Bed was very comforatble. Clothes wardrobe very small. The rooms were small and I wouldn't want to stay for a longer period.
Breakfast was good. We had a drink in the bar before dinner the first night but music was more disco than cocktail and the barman said he could do nothing to change ot since it was pumped through the internet! Dinner was disappointing - staff were overworked and the potatoes for my f+c undercooked.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at front on waterloo streey

By far one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Scotland. Central, convenient, lovely sleek modern design, luxury rooms with very comfotable beds, rainfall showers, lots of lovely extra touches and very quiet for city centre hotel. Friendly, attentive staff, decent breakfast (although service poor one of the mornings when it was particualrly busy) and fabulous restaurant, food was amazing. Really couldn't find any fault at all. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: can't see any of the rooms being bad. We had an upgraded room but would expect there is not much...
