“Nice hotel in a good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Visited with my wife on a d/b/b deal, nice room with comp soft drinks/snacks. Meal in restaurant was nice but staff not very professional, my wife and I sat with our empty plates for nearly 20 mins unacceptable in a 4 star hotel, got the impression that they were looking after customers that were dining only( not hotel patrons ) will try a different hotel in glasgow when I return. Special mention to reception staff, very pleasant.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are always very grateful for our guest’s feedback and are particularly pleased that you enjoyed your stay. I have drawn the restaurant team's attention to your point regarding the time taken to clear your main course, as there should not be such a delay. Please accept our apologies, if this took a lttle of the shine off your stay.

I was treating my fiancé and I to a wonderful two nights at this contemporary establishment to great pleasure. The hotel receptionists were pleasantly friendly, helpful, and professional.

The room was very clean, spotless, and has an amazing waterfall shower.

The food is delicious (though restaurant staff customer service is lacking) upon watching.

The bar is wonderful. I had tried a variety of whiskies -- of which they had many to choose from which was nice. So you won't go wanting for much with their wide selection of drinks. Also it was a slow night so the bar staff chatted away to us for a few hours in between customers which turned out to be quite nice.

On departure, the receptionist helped us with our bags and held the door open for us as we departed onward leaving us with an excellent impression of the hotel. A wonderful hotel with great staff.

We had a one-night stay when over for the Celtic V's Juventus game. Despite being disappointed by the result, we were certainly not let down by the hotel.

It is very conveniently located in Waterloo Street a couple of hundred yards from Central Station and the city centre.

The large and high-ceilinged open plan reception / bar area was very welcoming and comfortable. The bedroom was absolutely fine with everything you would expect. Had a great nights' sleep.

We missed breakfast but had lunch before we left and it was lovely.

Biggest credit needs to go to the staff. Conor and Bonnie get special mentions but perhaps that is being unfair to the others who's names I did not get - they were all superb. My wife summed it up by saying that it did not feel like a hotel at all - it felt like you were with friends! Another observation was that you did not feel stifled by the staff but they were always there you.when you needed them without becoming a pain fussing over you.

Best recommendation of a hotel is whether you would use it again and this is definitely our hotel of choice for future trips to Glasgow. Keep up the good work guys - well done.

very nice hotel, we stayed on a Sunday night so was a little quieter, staff at reception were lovely, we ate in the hotel restaurant and we had no complaints, food excellent, reasonably priced, and the staff were superb, they made our stay a little more special with there attentive service, management should give the two girls who were working in the restaurant on Sunday the 10th February a pat on the back for how they were looking after there customer's, its the little things like that which make you want to come back, rooms are very nice, clean, well decorated and best of all a big comfy bed!! read a couple of reviews about people complaining about not getting enough to eat at breakfast....complete rubbish we were totally stuffed at breakfast, everything fresh, staff running around making sure everything is perfect for you....brilliant!! we will be back. only reason it didnt get 5 out of 5 was that we had to phone reception about noisy neighbours on our floor at midnight, but cant blame the hotel for them, to hotel staffs credit after phoning the noise stopped after 5 mins, am sure the wont be there if you decide to book

We stayed in the indigo suite, room 512. The room is lovely and spacious, it is an ideal size for the length of stay we had. The mini bar was stocked with half a bottle of champagne, 1 small wine, 2 Heineken, water and a few nibbles. This was restocked every day, including the champagne. Canapés were left for us every night, nice touch.

There is a little section with kettle, coffe, tea, glassware, ice bucket, this was useful. We asked for fresh milk which was sent up with no charge. The room was made up every day by housekeeping, toiletries were restocked daily if we used them.

The tv is big and the music player had a iPod docking station. The hotel staff were brill. I asked for a cake and wine for my husbands birthday, this was in the room for when we arrived.

I loved this room, the reason I have given it a 4 rather than a 5 is if I had a choice, I would've liked a bath in the room as well as a shower. That is just a personal preference though.

Just up from this hotel, is a wetherspoons, which we didn't find until our last day as we tended to head towards central station rather than up and round the corner. We ate I the butchershop bar and grill, which was fab for steak. The italian cafe, nice as it had small plates and viva. All were Nice. We also had a trip to xscape snow dome, about 7mins in a taxi. Although we don't have children, this is a great day out for children as well as adults.

Great hotel with a modern bar. Give it a go :-)

Stayed for only one night but the reception staff made my wife an I very welcome even down to wishing my wife a Happy Birthday. We had arrived early but were made to feel extremely welcome and asked what colour of room we wanted, After my wife chose pink (it was her birthday) we made our way to our room which was spotless and a very comfortable bed. We had made a meal reservation at a nearby restaraunt and were given detailed directions to it by a very cheerful lady on the front desk. In the morning we asked if we could leave our luggage while my wife got in last minute shopping and again it was no problem. This was only a short stay but an ideal place to stop and lay your head. We will be back.

Stayed here on an extended weekend break and were impressed by the overall quality of the hotel. There were minor niggles but overall it deserves a high rating. Reception staff excellent. Room cleanliness and replenishment first class and as described in previous reports an interesting little free bar of soft drinks sweets and biscuits again replenished daily. Noise factors acceptable for a city centre location. Cooked breakfasts were a little Spartan but well cooked.
The décor and the attention to detail in that décor are to be applauded and we found ourselves spiralling our way down from the top floor to the ground floor looking at all the changes in décor and photographs on each level [we even discovered the Glasgow Coat of Arms hidden away on level 3 of the emergency exit stairs - apparently this once adorned the wall of the Glasgow Electric Company's board room and was too fragile to be moved hence its now inauspicious locality!!]
Forgiving the criticism of breakfasts and the incredibly small wardrobes I would still give this the highest rating possible.

Room Tip: Higher numbers on each floor will be looking onto Waterloo Street which is a major city centre thoro...
