“New Hotel”

I used TripAdvisor feedback to select hotels for a recent family holiday, and we booked to stay at the Indigo Hotel in July. The location is central, but there is no parking in front (double yellow lines) - there are two spots round the corner and discounted parking in the multi-storey car park across the street. Of all the hotels we stayed in, this had the smallest room, though it was new enough for us to smell the paint in the corridors!

Hubby and I stayed for 2 nights, the first time without our child. Previously we have stayed in quite a few good quality hotels.....and this hotel was great..not like anything we have experienced before...similar to Signature in Vegas...but different.

To start off with you can choose the colour of your room....as much as I wanted the pink room, I chose to comprimise and we went for green. The room was unbelievably immaculate...as if we were the first to stay there....the only give away for me was that I had to wipe my toilet seat....oops! The room was gorgeous and the bathroom had Aveda products with gown and slippers. We were the first to use the iron and kettle. There was a small but very modern gym where you could upload your own Nike/Iphone routine.

We stayed in a 'superior' room with a mini bar. This consisted of 2 beers, 1 wine, juice, pringles, kitkat and skittles. On our second day we did not receive any beer......we were advised we should have received two cans. The employee at our door handed over one can of beer stating it was the last can in the hotel and with nothing to substitute the second can......what? Could it not be replaced for a small bottle of wine, a small vodka? Could a can not be removed from the minibar of an empty hotel room?

The only other very petty negative was the fact that the breakfast stock ran low.....no bread for toast, not much fruit salad.

This is a great hotel with a few teeny weeny start up hitches...but the staff, hotel, cleanliness and facilities are all fantastic. I would def stay here again and have been raving about it to anyone who asks.

Excellent rooms with great showers and widescreen TV, big comfortable bed. Staff was helpful and polite. Free wifi does not work well beyond lobby. No view to speak of but close enough to walk to most things downtown.

Having stayed at the Liverpool & now the Glasgow Indigo hotels all I can say is that this group are a fantastic find... Although a chain they are not in the slightest chain like in their quality. Modern, Boutique & quirky (in a good way) but with fantastic attention to detail from the crockery in the restaurant to the bath products in the room... All this for not much more than the price you would pay in one of the many cheap generic "lodge/inn's" that are around... Looking forward to our next visit

We booked a deal via travelzoo for one night. The hotel is modern and contempary, the room was lovely and had the most comfortable bed ever. The bathroom with the waterfall shower was good and there were Aveda products as an added bonus. The staff were all really helpful and friendly it is refreshing to receive such excellent customer service. We had a 3 course meal in the hotel restaurant and the food was of a very high standard, good portion size as well as quality lovely fresh ingredients. The breakfast was okay there is room for improvement but that's only a slight negative. Overall the stay was really enjoyable.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo twice - on the way to and the way back from a week's holiday in Kintyre. The hotel itself is lovely; a sensitively-restored Victorian power-generating station (and how often do you get to say you stayed at one of those?) but what makes Indigo a truly wonderful hotel is the staff. After all a hotel is just a building and however nice it is it's the staff inside who make the difference.
Throughout our two stays we were overwhelmed with how helpful and friendly the staff were, by the end of the second date it felt like we were staying with friends.
I cannot praise hotel Indigo highly enough and it's inconceivable that when I go to Glasgow again, I would would want to stay anywhere else.

Stayed on Saturday 13th August, on the Travel Zoo deal - £99 including dinner allowance and breakfast. The staff were excellent from the moment we checked in. The room was excellent with a great mini bar which we enjoyed. Booked dinner which was good, the meal allowance worked out at £24 each so excellent value again. On returning to the hotel later in the evening had a few drinks in the bar - wee bit pricey but that was expected, also had a good conversion with the Bar Manager on the merits of different bourbons. The only disappointment came at breakfast , probably one of the poorest cooked breakfasts I have seen, although the overall experience was not spoiled by this.
Checking out was fine and received a token for the car park for the 50% discount.
