“Delicious!”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

Came here last night for a meal out with my boyfriend & his parents. Been meaning to try this place for a while now but always forget when it comes to booking! Can safely say after our meal last night that we won't forget it again! Every course was delicious, well cooked, good flavours & perfectly presented. We had duck spring rolls, stuffed chillies, steamed rice in lotus leaf & Sichuan won ton to start, tried a bit of them all & they were fantastic. The stuffed chillies were filled with flavour & mighty hot! Duck in the spring rolls were cooked well & hoi sin sauce tasty. Mains included sweet & sour chicken with pomegranate, fillet of beef with onion & Shiraz sauce, hong kong beef flank clay pot & fillet of beef with black bean sauce. Again, each of these were so tasty & full of flavour. Deserts we had meringue, deep fried ice cream & banana fritters, this just topped off a fabulous meal & we all really enjoyed it. Had some drinks & got the bill, came with some ferrero rocher too which was a nice touch. Total £135 for 4 starters 4 Mains, noodles, 2 x rice, prawn crackers, 4 deserts, 2 large Pinot Grigio, 2 beers & 4 cokes. Excellent value for money. My boyfriend & I struggle to find good Asian food as we have travelled all over & never find anywhere back home that quite compares however we will definitely return to Opium as its the closest we have come yet to good Asian fusion food.

“Glasgow's best Chinese”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

As a regular business visitor to Glasgow, I am working my way through the Cities restauraunts. I am delighted to have found Opium as it is a superb Chinese and by far the best in the City. It is a really modern, clean take on Chinese. The interior and surroundings are clean and simple with none of the usual cliches, the food is simple, freash and fantastic and the staff are lovely. Oh yes, and it's also quite reasonably priced. Not surprisingly, it's starting to get quite busy as people discover all of the above but still quite easy to get a table.
Excellent!

“Best dim sum outside of London”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

First time on coming to this establishment for dinner on a saturday night (which was extremely busy), and after tasting the food understandably so.
This is the only restaurant I have come across that does such good dim sum outwtith London. In fact dim sum is on par with the best of the London restaurants, although would be nice to have a few more veggie/fish choices in the steamed section. We ordered a selection of dim sum, steamed and fried and all were delicious.
Staff were very friendly and will definitely go back. One thing to point out is when extremely busy it can be difficult to hear your fellow guest talk. We had to shout at one another to be heard. However this did not detract from the outstanding quality of the food. Would highly recommend.

“Best Dim Sums ...”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Can't fault this place.
Very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere to sit back and enjoy delicious Dim Sums.
A hidden gem just off Sauchiehall Street.
Ashamed to say we haven't managed to have dinner here as yet, but we intend doing so on our next trip.
Truth be told, we have never got past the mouth watering dumplings at lunch time !
