Late minute booking as the Ho Wong was closed due to a fire in a nearby building.

First visit and it won't be our last!

Staff.. Very nice, helpful and efficient. Not consistently over at your table or rushing you out the door

Food... Well it was just fabulous, we opted for 3 starters as we couldn't make up our minds and they were stunning, salt and chilli ribs are to die for and the mains were superb.

Cost.. Very reasonable, did a double take of the bill expected to be paying more for such good food.

We had a lovely evening at Opium we will be back soon.

Difficult to write this review, because I don't want the best chinese restaurant I've ever been to becoming too busy - but you can't fault this place! Everything on the menu is incredible - a huge amount of dim-sum as well as a host of authentic chinese main courses with a modern twist. Staff always excellent and drinks and wine list top-notch. Try the chilli salt and pepper squid - amazing!

We tasted food that we have never tasted before having decided to visit this restaurant after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We were on holiday staying just outside the city centre so it was only a short taxi ride. We love Chinese food but this was different. The service was top class - charming waitress who suggested some dishes that we might like to try so we resulted in a combination of our choices and her recommendations which worked very well indeed. The monk fish was divine. But all the dishes were delightful. The only downside was that the restaurant was not very busy (perhaps because Scotland were playing footie that night) and the background music was a bit too loud - perhaps making up for the empty places. We will be back hen next in Glasgow

Me and my husband went to Glasgow for a break for the first time. Found the restaurant from this very website and tried it upon its review. We were very impressed with the food and service. I would definitely recommend it.
