“The only ones in the Bar to start, but still had fun”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

Had a nice time here, but was so disappointed it was so quiet, if didn't stop myself and my hubby having fun though and the place soon filled up. The cocktails are fab but quite pricey. Good fun though in their own special glasses etc. bar staff very friendly and gabbed away to us both, and looked the other way when we were taking cheesy pictures of each other haha

“Great food in relaxed surroundings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

The Tiki Bar and Kitsch Inn is a bar (downstairs) and restaurant (upstairs) that revels in retro. The music was strictly 1950's rock n roll, the menus had MAD magazine covers, the cocktails are served in coconuts and 'skulls', and the wallpaper would give you a headache! This is all fun, but it wouldnt mean anything if the food wasnt good. And it is.
Despite not booking through 5pm.com we were advised that we could still take advantage of their 2 courses for £13.50 offer (with a slight surcharge for certain specials). Spicy prawn crackers with a sweet chilli dip were brought to the table with our drinks, before the starters of fish cakes and salt and pepper squid. Both passable, but the main courses were on a different level. The Massomam beef curry was delicious, and while it wasnt exactly a small portion I couldve happily eaten it all again. The food is similar to that served in Soba in Mitchell Lane, although probably a little better.
Cocktails - gin and juice and a Mai Tai - werent cheap but were again delicious. And the service throughout was friendly and helpful.
Definitely a place to keep in mind for a slightly informal dinner. Although I would maybe recommend booking, as although the restaurant was empty when we arrived at 5:15pm it was choc-full by the time we left 2 hours later. And it looks like there were only around 10/11 tables.

“Interesting place for Thai”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Was here for an early dinner with friends on a pre-theatre which was excellent value for money. There was a good choice with some interesting options. We all had something different and it was all delicious. Decided to go for dessert at the end at an extra cost (£2 each) but it's worth having two if your still hungry as they are quite small but tasty. The place is quite small with only 15 or so tables so it doesn't get too noisy and there is a booth round the corner for a bigger party. Will definitely be making a return visit at some point.

“My favourite place in Glasgow.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

What's not to love? Great selection of rums, beautiful cocktails, friendly staff and the best thai food I've had in a long time. The squid starter was the tastiest I've ever had - a light, crispy batter and not a hint of rubberyness to be had. Couldn't recommend enough.
