If you don't go for the 5pm menu it can work out quite pricey. Very dark and dingy so don't go on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Went around 1pm and we weren't offered a lunch menu - just the normal a la carte.

One of my party had the mac and cheese with smoked haddock from the specials board. £12.95! It's is a bit steep considering it came without chips , just some bread.

Good service and good deals to be had - just not when I went.

Fantastic food and great value! We had the 3 couse meal with a bottle of wine for two which is excellent value for the quality of food that was served.

6 of us were placed in a booth which is great for a group of friends.

Food was excellent, very tasty and portion sizes were just right would definitely recommend!

What a great find Café Source turned out to be! Reception at our hotel hadn't heard of it so we didn't know what to expect but they asked us to report back which we did with pleasure. The restaurant is in a lovely location in the crypt of St Andrews in the Square church, which added to the enjoyment of we three atheists! The menu covered all the bases and we were spoilt for choice. The food, which is largely locally sourced, was delicious and the service was just right - attentive but not intrusive, and our very helpful waiter explained some Scottish culinary terms to us. We now know what a drappit egg is! Food and wine was very reasonably priced.

We visited on Saturday 27th April family of 6 and had the lovliest evening with wonderful food served by staff who could not have been more attentive and frinedly.
The locally sourced food was cooked to perfection and we were hard pushed to choose what to have as my daughter who is vegetarian and very fussy was completely bowled over by the food
she has now booked St Andrewa in the square for her wedding in July 2014 with food supplied by Cafe Source. An excellent place for a truly enjoyable night
