“What a Surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014

6 of us shared a few wee drams and beers here;( this was an unplanned stop on my brother's 60th birthday celebration thru Scotland); had no idea it was an hotel until we returned to the states and look up TripAdvisor. Got the name from a pub lady in Edinburgh when we were watching the soccer match over beers and dinner- her father plays music there. Many locals just drop in with whatever instruments they play so we got any enchanted late afternoon impromptu concert. Definitely a re-visit!!!!!And will explore a possible hotel reservation

Room Tip: untried this trip- had no i dea it was more than a local fun bar

I had my 50th birthday celebration at Babbity's recently. I had been looking for a suitable venue for a meal for 20 odd friends and having been here at Christmas I knew the food would be good. From the minute I started arranging things with the owner and staff I knew this night would be a success. I took over the restaurant upstairs for the night. We were provided with two staff to order the food and drinks and serve same. Naomi and Hannah could not have been more helpful. We kicked off about half 7 and were there until after midnight. The reviews I have had since, of the food, drink and staff couldn't have been better. The food especially was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Special mention for the Seabass fillets and the rack of lamb. Only hiccup of the night was the music. There had a been an iPod docking station arranges but it wasn't available at the time, but the issuewas quickly rectified. I even stayed the night to save me a weary walk home and it was ideal. Very comfy bed one floor above the restaurant and the tea & toast for breakfast was exactly what was required. If i am looking for somewhere for a similar event in the future I will not look much further.

This is a hidden gem in the centre of Glasgow. Free car parking and WiFi a bonus. Great hospitality with friendly easy going staff. Room clean and comfy. While basic with no TV and tea/coffee facilities the location and great value of the accommodation more than made up for this. The pub has a good atmosphere and does great food. Wish there were more places like it.

Something about Babbity Bowsters that draws me back everytime it's great it has outdoor seating which can be busy at times but its a always a nice relaxing atmosphere, would recommend it to anyone that wants to go to a nice pub in the city centre but its not full of young people falling about the place.

We only stayed for one night at Babbity Bowster but it was a very pleasant and friendly stay. The hotel is located in the centre of Glasgow and you can easily walk everywhere. In the morning we also had a small but sufficient breakfast without paying any extra fee. The hotel is situated in a calm street so that there are no traffic noises. Free parking and wifi is also available. The room was ordinary but well-appointed. The price-performance ratio is absolutely unbeatable.

This is a great place to relax over a pint of real beer or a glass of wine in an attractive area of Glasgow. The highly professional, friendly and efficient staff make a major contribution to the overall experience in this vibrant establishment. The location of the pub is perfect for a stay in the city with its simple yet stylish accommodation.
