“Excelent hotel”
Reviewed February 15, 2010

We stayed on Saturday 13th February when hotel was extremely busy because of Valentine's weekend. We booked several weeks ago and got a very good deal. It was everything I'd hoped for, staff were very friendly & extremely helpful, nice clean room and very comfy BIG bed - best sleep we've had in ages!!! Breakfast is served up until 12 o'clock on Sunday which is excellent - we had to queue for a very short time but didn't mind as we were in no rush. Food was fresh and hot, served efficiently by friendly staff. All in all a real treat. Thank you Marriot Glasgow.

Smallish room with standard marriott details. Good concierage lounge including free internet access and a nice breakfast option is available. Location is an easy walk into the city centre. Room was quiet and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful

Nice hotel, good location . Right off the motorway, close to the centre of Glasgow. managed to get a room for two adults and three children for £91.00 for the night. The room was spotless and the hotel facilities are great. The pool is great. Breakfast is very nice and although buffet style food is not left to lay for long periods. Would love to stay there again, but when went to book for my sisters wedding in June (still 5 months away) We were quoted nearly £200 per night for the same room and number of children. When asked about this, we were told that we could not get it at any better rate as they had a "special event on". Sadly they were not willing to be flexable for this and would rather loose custom with patorns going to other hotels. Such a shame that they have no interest in return custom.

Had a wonderful stay here. Coming in from Prestwick airport we arrived at the Glasgow central train station and this hotel is just a short walk down the street a couple blocks or so.
Probably about a half mile or so. It was easy to find, check in was no problem. Room was clean and quiet, hotel had an indoor pool and steam room. Can walk to much of the city from here. I often see fantastic rates on this place, 50 pound or less sometimes so for the value you just cannot beat it. Without a doubt would stay here again if ever in Glasgow, which I hope I will be someday! I want to return in August for the piping festival!

8 of us checked in Saturday 30th no problem. Staff very courteous. I'd rang in the morning explaining one of the girls was celebrating her 50th birthday so room service arrived just after check in with champagne on ice.
Rooms were clean and a good size and the bed was soooooooo comfortable!
We ate in the bar which has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Taxi from train station to hotel was £3.50 and same price from hotel to Merchant City for drinks.
We paid £42.50 each for room only which was good value for money. Once again the Marriott lived up to our expectations and would recommend to anyone.

dont forget your credit card!! after our function was over we were asked to move into the residents bar where cash is not accepted. being students for the past 3 yrs the majority of our party does not have credit cards.
our wonderfully organised eveing was spoiled by staff continually pestering guests by wandering around the function suite looking for ppl with their own alcohol, even asking ladies to open their bags. disgraceful!! the same bouncers awaited us as we made our way to our room checking our room numbers and name and of course going the extra mile to ensure we could spell the surname according to the booking. we felt humiliated and upset by the treatment of these staff members. having paid £90 bed and breakfast for myself and a friend and £9.50 for 2 vodkas and coke every round i would not reccomend this hotel if going with a party.

We spent 2 nights here for a pre-Christmas weekend away in Glasgow and it was just what we needed. After our initial mix-up with directions (our new GPS mobile phone took us to the other 500 Argyle Street in Glasgow - a slightly less savoury area to walk through but frequented by friendly police), we found the hotel was in a great location. Whilst not picturesque, the area is convenient for walking to town and access by car, taxi, train or bus all reasonable. I felt safe at night and our 4th floor view out the back over the carpark, highway and other distant hotels did give us some privacy and visual space to watch the weather come in (snow in this case). The entire place was clean, our king size bed was luxurious, the bathroom modern, the heating easy to control and the TV large. The only room complaints would be the broken bar fridge and problems keeping the water cold enough in the shower/bath. We enjoyed an in-room movie for 6GBP and later on a drink of local whiskey at the bar where there were couples by the fireside, families lounging and a few guys quietly watching football on a screen at one end. Our rate was 50GBP for the room only, which I thought was pretty good. All staff were friendly and helpful. As further recommendation, I noticed Emirates flight staff staying there too.
