All in all a good hotel with just a few things to look out for. If you do get given one of the rooms which are right next to the air conditioning units and vents (& facing a brick wall), then that room is rather noisy and pretty terrible. Luckily, the staff are very helpful & friendly. They happily moved us into a much better room which was a lot quieter. Secondly, the traditional old lift, although it gives the hallway character & is visually impressive, it is functionally useless. Never worked for us & constantly had to use the stairs. Carried our luggage up and down the stairs on check in & out (though staff did offer). Otherwise it was a nice place to stay & it's location was very convenient, being so close to Buchanan St, yet much quieter than the surrounding city streets. There's a parking station is directly opposite the hotel & you get a slight discount from staying here. Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment. If they can find a way to get their lift to work more reliably that would be a big plus for them.More
